New home build with a monster 1000sqft attached garage

Day 6 of framing saw the second floor walls go up, including the inside walls. Finally parked my truck in the garage :D Aaaaand day 7, trusses were delivered. They only had time to set them in their rough locations, actual install / blocking / sheathing will happen over the next couple days.

New home build with a monster 1000sqft attached garage

Some more progress over the last week or so! Day 4 of framing. Beams and joists in. The biggest beam in the house, in the garage of course: One really interesting truss that holds up this corner of the 2nd story over the garage: End of day 5 of framing. Subfloor is down and 2nd story...

A little more progress over the last few days. 3 days in to framing and the ground floor is 95% complete. They should be starting joists on Monday. Day 1 of framing, view from inside the 2 car side of the garage: Second day of framing, most of the load bearing walls are up and the height...

New home build with a monster 1000sqft attached garage

I've hired my contractor to just do the build up to finished drywall (and finished exterior), and my wife and I will be tackling the landscaping and interior finishing work (bathrooms, kitchen, flooring, paint, trim etc). The builder broke ground March 31, and has committed to being finished his...

New home build with a monster 1000sqft attached garage

Good call! I didn't even realize I didn't have that in my profile. This build is happening just outside Vancouver, BC. Thanks for the suggestion! I definitely don't want a flood on my hands so I'll be sure to ask.

New home build with a monster 1000sqft attached garage

Now this brings us up to current. Framing starts next week! Site staked out and excavated: Forms for footings and foundation: All poured: Backfill and crush nearly done. Guess the excavator was the first thing parked in my garage LOL.

New home build with a monster 1000sqft attached garage

So progress has finally been made! First off, the building site. My half acre property came with an old mobile home which is set far enough back that I can build in front. We'll be living in it until the new house is done, and then the mobile will be removed. Prior to work starting...

    New 28x37 in BC Canada

Yes sir! Building a whole house with attached 1000sqft garage. Builder will be drywalling the living space but I'll be doing the garage (or subbing it out hopefully!) Cool story about the car. Hopefully I'll see it on the roads here eventually. One of the reasons for my new monster garage is so...

    New 28x37 in BC Canada

Awesome work! Can't believe I missed this, I live just a couple minutes away from you. I'm actually looking for a drywaller for my build that's starting in a couple months, if you don't mind messaging me your guy's contact info that would be awesome. Looking forward to more updates!

New home build with a monster 1000sqft attached garage

Haha funny enough I already have a detached 800sqft 20x40 in the back corner unfortunately it only has 8.5' ceilings so it's not really suitable for a proper lift. I've added a couple more pics to the first post, one showing the property layout, and one with the upstairs floor plan.

The laundry room is upstairs, I just didn't bother posting a picture of that part of the house since it's not garage related haha.

New home build with a monster 1000sqft attached garage

Hey guys, this is still in the early stages as we just got the preliminary home plans back from the builder so at this point I'm hoping to get some input and suggestions. The original plans had a more standard 3 car garage approx 20' x 30' and I had them add an oversized bay that extends all...

    New first time home owner.

I had the same issue with my gladiator cabinets and just stuck some wood to the back with double sided tape. Worked perfect. I've had 6 of the top cabinets installed for the last year and a half and I've already re-organized and moved them around twice so I'm happy I chose to go with the...
