Hey guys, thanks for the tip. I figured out what it was... it was unevenness of the rod, so spring gets stuck there which forces the rod to rotate with the spring when it was being winded. i smoothed out the rod by grinding it a bit, and that did the trick as spring was able to move freely...

Hey guys, first timer here. I have installed new spring a couple of times in the past just by following some youtube videos... I don't know how the heck i did it without visegrips, but it was done successfully. Now I am facing a weird challenges that I just can't figure out what i am doing...
