I was given one of those cabinets several years ago with a bunch of odd & end hardware parts.
The catch was I needed to take all the hardware & get it out of a basement. I removed all the drawers & caried them out individually & then brought the cabinet up with an appliance dolly.
I bet you're not "Throwing" that transfer case back in with one hand & tightening it down with the other hand.
I replaced one by myself years ago in a K5 Blazer with just a small hydraulic jack & some 4" X 4" wood blocks. Laying on the ground & trying to lift the transfer case with the jack &...
I have basically the same 120V & 240V lines on the other side of my garage.
Things were a little disorganized in this pic. but you can see the outlet boxes on the wall. A work bench is normally on the left side under the shelves, but it was moved into the center of the garage for cutting down...
In the meantime, I'll be working in my basement on rebuilding the quick-change gearbox & the apron for a 13" South Bend lathe I've been working on for a while. I also need to wire-up the control panel for it which I also currently have in my basement. The lathe has a 3-phase two-speed dual...
Nothing, it's too damn cold here in Southeast Michigan to try heating my garage.
I have a couple of 240V heaters that will heat the garage, but it's just too expensive to run them when the high temperature is only in the lower teens. 🥶
Maybe by the end of February, I'll get back to working out...
Yeah, I agree!
I've came back to this thread a bunch of times for information.
Bringing it back up again because I lost the original link I had saved.

Apparently, I didn't read enough reviews on their customer service.
After finding out that my city has some stupid regulations on putting in a heating/cooling system in a detached garage, I ended up canceling my order for the mini split. Being it was the Holiday weekend naturally nothing...
The 18K DELLA unit I decided on is probably a little over sized for my garage, but I still need to finish installing a ceiling in my old garage. It's a lot more fun trying to install a ceiling in a already overcrowded garage.
Until I get the ceiling & insulation finished, the add...
I just ordered a DELLA Serena Series 18000 BTU SEER2 22 Mini-Split Heat Pump AC. I ordered it through their web site, https://dellahome.com/ they currently have an independents day sale. I read a bunch of good reviews on them! Their also available through Amazon, so maybe watch for any Prime...
I have a little smaller garage 440sq. ft. also in Michigan, SE side.
Tried several on-line load calculators & I also got mixed results. 12k sounds fine for cooling, but I'm thinking 18k may be better for heating?
I've also noticed that a 20 or higher SEER2 rating is better for us in the colder...
Yeah, I'm thinking it may also have sone type of secret sauce or something to do with the wire it's self
I have a 2HP Baldor & a Baldor VFD on my Powermatic 1200HD drill press & the motor has a sticker on it saying that it's wound with inverter spike resistant wire.
Maybe it's something like...
Yeah, that's probably why it's recommended for a motor running on a VFD to have at least class "F" insulation to help handle the extra heat created at low speeds.
I've seen several motor VFD setups where they do use electric axillary cooling fans for cooling.
I recently bought a new/old stock 1/2HP 1725RPM 3-phase motor that I plan to use with a VFD for a small lathe.
The motor has class "F" insulation which I understand is the minimum recommended for a motor running on a VFD.
However, it also shows type F+ on the ID plate!
I've done a ton of...
