Good work!
My table top is 4'x8'x1/2". It had 3/4" of bow in the middle of it, running the entire length of the plate. I was able to take the bow out and it's now completely flat. I put the plate on the table skeleton such that the highest spot was in the middle (convex). Then I clamped...
Nice helmet, and thanks for the review. Does this helmet have a grinding or plasma cutting mode?
Don't worry about the lack of solar charger and battery life. I have a Jackson Journeyman that I've had for over 6 years. It still has the original AAA batteries in it and I haven't had to change...

I built a welding table because I needed one badly. I thought you guys might like to see how I did it.
I started with a basic 4'x8' "frame". It's made out of 0.120" wall 2"x4" tubing, and the legs are 0.120" wall 3"x3" tubing.

I like to have some adjustability in...
I went to Harbor Freight tonight to buy the 45-piece tap and die set (#41451), but the douchebag cashier wouldn't take my printed 20% off coupon. Before printing another coupon and going to a different store/trying a different cashier, I wanted to know if anybody has tried this tap and die set...
Thanks for the replys guys!
How hard is it to find replacement parts for these lathes? If a gear broke, am I totally screwed?
I know, but as far as money is concerend, wouldn't a 3 ton chunk of metal bring more than $600?
I'm going to go ahead and check the machine out. If it checked out ok...
Thanks for the info guys! :)
As for the $600-800 figures, would it not bring more money to scrap a machine that heavy? I haven't seen anything that cheap in my area, unless it's an old and small bench top Craftsman or Atlas lathe.
Thanks again guys! :)
Hi guys,
I've been wanting to buy a lathe for a while and came across a 16x96" South Bend lathe. The owner believes it's a 1944 model. It's got a 1-1/2 HP 3 phase motor. The ways are in great shape (per seller). The through hole is 1.5". Included accessories are:
- 3-Jaw Chuck
- 4-Jaw Chuck

I have an eBay Cut 50 plasma cutter. I've used it a few times to make brackets and cut the floor out of my truck. It's pretty good for what it is. I think I paid $330 for it. I also bought a 50 piece consumable kit for about $40 or so, which I think is worth it considering that the importer...
