I checked out both links and the second link took me to where I was able to ask for info about the motor. I took another look and your right, there are only 2 wires. I guess I"ll pull the end off the motor after I get the specs on the motor. Next time I"ll look closer at what I buy used.

If green is the ground, the other 2 wires should be the hot wires, right?

The PO had it running on 120 volts. As soon as I tried it at home, a few months after I bought it, that's when I found it getting hot. I don't remember which wires were hooked up to what so I can't say where the green wire was hooked up to. I know that when I hooked it up to the house recepticle...

I"m new here so if I mess up, let me know. I bought a 1hp motor months ago and thought it was wired for 110volts. When I pluged it in it got hot to the touch real quick. After I looked at the tag on the side I found out somebody, the guy I bought it from(?) had rewired it from 220 volts to 110...
