    I checked out both links and the second link took me to where I was able to ask for info about the motor. I took another look and your right, there are only 2 wires. I guess I"ll pull the end off the motor after I get the specs on the motor. Next time I"ll look closer at what I buy used.

    The PO had it running on 120 volts. As soon as I tried it at home, a few months after I bought it, that's when I found it getting hot. I don't remember which wires were hooked up to what so I can't say where the green wire was hooked up to. I know that when I hooked it up to the house recepticle...

As for the pics, the left picture is of the tag on the side of the motor and the picture on the right is a closer up of the end where the wires are exposed. The wire nut, yellow, is also connected to the wire you see coming from the left...

    On the metal plate it has "Emerson Electric" And the model is "KS 73 CXCE-338". I"m going to try to load two pictures I have of the plate and the opening where the wires come out of the motor.     I"m new here so if I mess up, let me know. I bought a 1hp motor months ago and thought it was wired for 110volts. When I pluged it in it got hot to the touch real quick. After I looked at the tag on the side I found out somebody, the guy I bought it from(?) had rewired it from 220 volts to 110...
