I'd replace all of the old piping in the house personally.
I just redid all of my drain pipes, and replaced all the water lines in the 1959 home I just moved into a few months ago. It was all rusted out cast iron drain pipes. And it drained like ****, and no amount of quick fixes would work...
Met with the architect and contractor today. The architect said she'd be able to attach it to the house and make it look good. And the contractor said the original quote she gave me should be good for changing it to doing it this way too.
So still an expensive project, but it's at least what I...
I will for sure.
You mentioning that definitely made me start thinking a lot harder on it. I’m not an architect or contractor so I have no frame of reference.
But attaching it all the way down would be more roofing work I’d guess, so I might be shocked to find out it’s going to be a lot...
When I was just going to do the breezeway connecting to the house I was quoted that it would probably be in the ballpark of 110-125k. That's for 10 foot ceilings, pour a concrete wall around the outside, fully insulated and finished, minisplit and all those little bells and whistles.
So I'm...
Here's a picture of the carport that's coming down. And the garage would be coming past the second window along the house. Do you guys think the architect will have any trouble connecting it to the roof and making it look nice?
Just trying to get some last minute ideas of what I should be...
I spoke with the guy who does the permits today. And was told that I could build it no closer to the fence without getting a variance approved. But that it would be fine to put it the same distance away from the fence that the existing carport is now, and that it would be fine to lengthen it as...
I'm not sure exactly on that part. But I assume so...The contractor is supposed to handle all of the permits needed.
Right now I'm panicking because someone told me the garage has to be 15 foot off the property line, and that the carport might have been grandfathered in...I was hoping to move...
That's what I'm thinking now...I was planning on having a breezeway connecting it to the house. Cutting in to the width. But if possible I might just connect it directly to the house, the only problem with that is that the kitchen window over the sink, and one of the dining room windows, and...
I'm in Georgia, about an hour away from Atlanta. The only other things that I'll be doing in the garage, are working out, and I have an infrared sauna I might put out there depending on how much space I have left over, there will be a computer and monitor out there to run the golf sim.
So no...
There will be a computer out there, so definitely want to minimize dust. What are your thoughts on Epoxy vs Polyaspartic flooring? From the minimal research I've seen so far people have been saying that polyaspartic might be a better option.
I just got done remodeling the inside of my new home, and now it's time to start the next fun part of the process. Designing and fitting out a garage. Right now there's an attached carport, that has a rotten roof and leaks like crazy, so it needs to go.
I don't have any room to go wider on the...
