What is this pin in pliers joint?

Well damn, you must be right. Thanks both. I have their bigger sibling too which I knew for sure didn't have the pin, but having just pulled them out to check, doesn't have a spring to escape either!

What is this pin in pliers joint?

This is a Tsunoda KBN-100S, designed for tightening and flush-cutting cable ties. There's a feature of the joint that I have never seen before -- a tiny roll pin pushed in to a hole in one half, pointing directly toward the pivot axis. Anyone know what it's for?? This type of joint normally...

Handtools from Germany - Good Experience

Ordered a number of Stahlwille SAE sockets and a set of Knipex circlip pliers. Good prices from HFG. Took a couple of weeks to ship due to a delay getting stock from Stahwille. The HFG website already mentions potential delays at the moment, I understand it's a challenging time. However, when...

    Amazon warehouse deals Permathread

Bosch brushless 18v impact driver, drill and 2x 2Ah batteries 217.99 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0UROL2/?tag=atomicindus08-20 CamelCamelCamel says lowest price of all time (this is normally practically what the brushed sets go for). CPO is also beating this price on sale by a couple bucks but...

    Zoro Deals Thread

My (Chase-issued, United Airlines branded) credit card does loads of time-limited deals where you get a statement credit of X% of your spend with a specific retailer. I see they currently have 10% at Zoro.com. I don't believe Chase has any visibility on whether I used a discount code at Zoro...

    VesselTools.com - Thumbs Up

It's not the most impressive collection, but whatever makes you happy! :) The non-Impacta's all have at least one of each type (JawsFit and non-JF) - you can see that at first glance they're indistinguishable except, at least on the ones I have, the JF have a barcode and the non-JF don't.

    VesselTools.com - Thumbs Up

Ordered various bits and screwdrivers from VesselTools.com a couple of months back - I used them partly because I specifically wanted both a JawsFit and a non-JawsFit set of the 900 series screwdrivers, and other vendors don't seem to properly differentiate. The non-JF set I got from...

    Bought Stahwille from Amazon.de

I'm in the US and have had great experiences buying Stahlwille from Mister Worker, TBS Aachen and Handtools From Germany (I think the proprietor of HFG, Michael, is a member here). If you try Mister Worker you have to watch their curious practice of listing the case for an item as a "version"...

Anyone ever bought tools from Mister Worker?

Ordered some Stahlwille sockets from this company, shipped and arrived within about a week (DHL). Well packaged. 10% discount on their already good prices for spending more than a certain amount (something like $200), which is not hard to do. The feature where they offer both the replacement...

    Torque Limiting Screw Driver/Allen Wrench?

Oh, that's a better one than the bicycle-style keys I posted. Cheap too.

    Torque Limiting Screw Driver/Allen Wrench?

Or perhaps these with long bits for clearance. Still basically a T though. https://www.prestacycle.com/product/prestacycle-torqkey-t-handle-torque-limiting-bits-tool-kit/

    Torque Limiting Screw Driver/Allen Wrench?

If t-handles are a clearance problem this may not work for you, but a lot of bicycle tool companies (Park, Pedro’s, Ice Tools etc) make preset torque hex wrenches that can be very affordable - I figure the preset feature might be helpful in your context. E.g...

Jack Stands - how wobbly is "too wobbly"?

The PSA thread reminded me - still have that 6-ton set on the list, but could not get comfortable (mentally) with the increased play in my newer pair of Escos. Returned that pair and got a replacement pair shipped out. Different box, noticeably different finish on the linchpins so I suspect a...

    Newbie question: Oily new sockets

Yes, I believe it's just paraffin. But the formulation with solvents helps it get on / in everywhere. I can't speak to German or Lunar availability though. :)

    Newbie question: Oily new sockets

I usually give tools a spray / squirt of Boeshield T-9 and then wipe down before putting away. It leaves a very thin, dry coat.
