    Furnace shutting down for overtemp

Bought a K type thermocouple/multimeter to measure temps instead of just an IR thermometer. In front of the intake duct the air would be 72 and the register (middle of register) would read ~125 after a few minutes (kept slowly climbing).

    Furnace shutting down for overtemp

I've confirmed that it is shutting down for overtemp in the heat exchanger. I did this by leaving a multimeter on the switch and sure enough it eventually showed an open circuit at the switch and shut the furnace off. For the time being I increased fan speed by swapping to the cooling tap on...

    Furnace shutting down for overtemp

I wish that was the case, I changed filters yesterday. I measured windspeed thru the intake at 10mph on 13.5" diameter duct to give me 825 CFM. I do not see any obstructions along the coil or outlet vents. Should I expect more CFM? I plan to measure the actual temp that the high limit cuts...

    Furnace shutting down for overtemp

I've got a Goodman 92% 60,000 BTU input natural gas furnace. It looks like it is kicking out at times for overtemp so it has a hard time maintaining temperature. Temperature rise in the ducts is approximately 45 degrees F. Input 70F output 115F so it sounds like the overtemp sensor is active...

    American Standard furnace problem

Google is your friend. http://www.diychatroom.com/f17/3-flash-code-american-standard-freedom-90-furnace-973/ You have power, but what is happening it is going thru its safeties. In this case does the small exhaust blower turn on at all? If it isnt then thats why the pressure switch isnt...

First Weekend in New Home, Garage Floods! Need drains?

Not sure how Canada works but in this case it's not just that the sellers didn't disclose a presumably required defect (Canada may be different). The sellers intentionally hid an issue by screwing and sealing the garage door shut. Talk to your lawyer and realtor immediately. As they can...

Dewalt 36"Top Box 125$. Perfect fit on HF 44"lower

Bought this box at Home Depot for 125$ (36x18). Fits perfectly on top of my HF 44" box. Cant beat the price. You need to have a Home Depot near you, the 1st one I brought home (perfect box) had a dent in it and I had to exchange it. You can get a matching bottom for ~280 as well but is not...

Proper sized Junction Box for 4/0 splice

Can it be in a structure but not in conduit? That's my problem, I have the 4 twisted wires coming into my crawlspace and just hang below the joists to the main panel (about 10 feet)

Proper sized Junction Box for 4/0 splice

I ran power to my detached garage using mobile home feeder (4/0, 4/0, 4/0, 2 XLP). Didn't realize the error in my ways. I have about 10ft of this cable hanging in my crawlspace and wall into my mains panel. Since this cable isn't rated to be inside the home, I was going to splice it with...

Just got my bid back...having some sticker shock

PM me your email. What part of Bowling Green are you in? (I'm on the south side in Hidden River). I just had a garage built a few years ago and he did a great job. The brick is running the cost up a bit, but I'd expect something like that to be ~60K in our area all trimmed out. 30x40 should...
