I agree with this, wholeheartedly. A medium size bag, with the tools to do 90% of jobs, is a necessity. You don’t need a packout stack to do every job. Veto makes a Tech MCT with a rubber bottom.

I get it… but you are trying to make him out to be the bad guy because he didn’t let you screw him over. Wilton bullet vises are amongst the most desirable vises. Columbian vises were homeowner grade vises that you could buy at Sears. I gave my USA Columbian away.

Even when they don’t stick, they can beat the **** out of hardware that you often don’t have on hand. They are, definitely, not always ideal.

I don’t even see how you could easily do the math. They are not going to release those numbers to the public. While you can break any tool, the same few tools are probably the majority of tools that get replaced on warranty. I would probably be safe to say that ratchet internals, bit sockets...

The standardized ANSI/ASME color scheme is used pretty broadly. When Klein and Snap-on use them, they look like more obvious colors (brown is brown…). The Harbor Freight ANSI/ASME colors are weird dull shades. I like to carry the most common sockets for my job (3/8”, 7/16” shallow and deep...

Once I have way too much of any given category of tool, I go through them. Adjustable wrenches are easy to find second hand for cheap. You could fill your garage. If I have a crazy amount (more than enough for my main toolbox, other toolbox, workbench, toolcart, work tools and some spares…)...

I have only bought two 1/4”x16mm SK sockets at retail. I have a ton of SK, but it was all Facom era NOS from Kitts industrial or garage/estate sales.
