I built mine a little over 2 years ago. No step by step instructions or what really goes where. The plans included are pretty basic and really just a blue prints. They really just sell you a materials list and you do what you want with it.

I ripped a the first piece to 1 1/2 in and nailed that as my starter.

This: I never understood listing that have a shop/garage and they do not show it off, ie they list the size and no info. It giver the future owner an idea on what they can use it for, it should add value rather than be a line item.

Go perpendicular Both panels are 38in, the overlap will be a problem. You would have to add bracing for the overhang for the next sheet to screw into, as it will be 2in past the stud,(and increase with each sheet) the next sheet would not have anything to screw into until the next 14in

I believe faced is the vapor barrier, if you used unfaced, you would add it via plastic sheeting. You do not want to used faced and plastic sheeting.

does it operate without the opener? manually? Check the cable tension on each side, one must be loose? wound the correct way ? is the bar and brackets fully seated, level?

I love my in floor radiant heat. With woodworking and such, there is no blowing dust around or blowing on you. It's always the same temp everywhere is the main plus.

radiant floor heat !! Put the pex tubing in at least, that would be less than $800 but you would also need the 2in insulation, that's more like 2-3K

I feel like the site and foundation work is a lot of fluff. If you already have a garage, the site work I would think would be minimal. If you are digging for the foundation, all they are adding is $200 in drain tile pipe if that, 2in insulation is less that 2K at Menards (still would have to...

I went with electric boiler for in floor heat, 1250sq radiant floor, a 10KW unit is 40amp, 50amp breaker 32K BTU. I ran a dedicated 200amp service to my shop. It cost about 5K for a 500ft service run , ran by the local utility co. They had to add a transformer box at about 250-300ft

I think either way would be nice, A gray 2x10 at the top, would frame the white area nice. I think a nice detail would be some thin chair rail to frame in the orange stripe. It would clean up the lines and add some depth visually, just like some 1" wide X 1/2" thick trim or 1/2x1/4.
