    1/16 drill bit

I had not seen one, it was 49 cents at Menards. How many actually have one? At least now I know people use them on a regular basis, or at-least one person did. I have one, who can say that? :)

    1/16 drill bit

I just got a 1/16", 12 inch long drill bit. Now I have what seems to me a very rare item. I had not seen one before this, nor can I think of a reason to have one. Who has one, and what would you use it for?

I don't believe I'll regret these HFT items

I have the HF stuff, and it worked very well to put a car tire on my Goldwing. That was many years ago. I can tell you first hand the car tire on a Goldwing is a great improvement over stock tires. All the speculation is done by those who don't know, I have not heard anyone want to go back...

    Cheap tools for camping

Used HF for many years, not many let downs, even with a pipe on them. I had a 3/8 ratchet give out, but I had a 3 foot pipe and was pushing on it with my feet.

Foundation wall tie in to slab question

" I'm going to rent a trencher and just pour directly in the trench." Seems like this will be a dream, not a reality. Usually the slab does not tie into the foundation, the walls are built on the foundation. The floor will be up against the foundation wall. Bring the foundation up a couple...

    Basic shop questions for beginner

Wish I had water in mine. You are going to put insulation under the concrete might as well put the pex in but maybe in zones and part can be heated with a more instant heat if need be.

contractor won't put rebar in my garage floor

I have seen cement tied to the foundation and it just broke the block wall out with the movement. Make sure the back fill is settled well, not just with a compactor. If the concrete does drop you would be depending on the rods to support that area. I also put insulation under it just so it will...

Will this heater work for my shop?

Heating the shop, No. Turn it on when you start working and off when you are done and it will get things warm enough to be comfy were you are working. It helps that there is not a lot of noise and no breeze, and the longer you work on something the more comfortable you will be. Heat the shop...

When do I need a nibbler?

The main reason to have one is because you don't have one. If you have one you will not need one. The only time you need one is when you don't have one. It is better to have and not need that to need and not have. I don't have one, but I did need one several times. I have many tools I don't need...

Designing new garage - how big is too big?

I am starting to put lean-tos on my lean-tos to house the stuff I no longer have room for, but still NEED.

Concealed fasteners or not? 50 X 40 barn metal roof????

My house will be standing seam, the barn, exposed fastener may be fine. I just don't see putting a roof on and putting hundreds of holes in it. But that is me. There are a lot, even most of the re-roof jobs around here are exposed fastener.

    18V cordless vacuum under $150

I have purchased four of the makita (White). Wife keeps one in the house, use it daily at least. I got one for church to clean up when I work on something. Got one for my daughter, she was so happy (she used mine a couple of times). One I had while working at my sons place and his wife liked it...

    Recomend JigSaw

It is good to know about it as well as how to use one in general. Blade size for radius, and tooth pitch and all that stuff as well as the adjustments on the machine for how aggressive it will cut. I forget the word, but the lever on the side for the amount of orbit on each stroke. And so on...

    Recomend JigSaw

A couple years age I told my wife what I wanted (Bosch) and where to get it. They were out and the salesman told her this was about the same. She came home with the Dewalt. I have been using it but sorely disappointed. I just need to get socks and shirts as gifts and buy the tools myself.

Garage Heater - Hours per day - 400 sq ft

I heat my 24x24 with radiant electric, 240v, 3000 watt tube, 60 degree all winter, less than $300. Two years ago it was $273 for the season. last season $296. Of course it is on a dual meter system at $.045 per kwh. 3 1/2 inch walls, 3/4 foam under the floor(for summer sweating), and lots of...
