    Welding PAPR's

I suppose the dust-only shield is cheaper (~$1000 vs. $1400 for the welding version), but I like the idea of having fume protection when I weld--I just don't do all that much of it. I also like the idea of have particulate protection when I do woodwork or grind cobalt tool bits. I can...

    Welding PAPR's

I mostly want it for grinding and woodworking, so don’t need the welding filter most of the time. Figured removing the welding filter would reduce quite a bit of weight.

    Welding PAPR's

That's the feedback I was looking for. Do you know if the welding portion can be removed to just use it as a grinding shield? How much have you used it for just grinding or dust protection? Thanks!

I'm just using it in my hobby woodworking/metalworking shop.

PAPR's, who's using one around the shop?

E36, Thanks. I've been looking at PAPRs for some time as I like wearing safety glasses, but really don't like wearing respirators as they often fog glasses. A buddy of mine got a Trend PAPR and liked it for woodworking, but it didn't hold up. He then scored a deal on a used 3M unit and raves...

    Welding PAPR's

Very interesting. Looks like they repurposed CPAP technology? Thanks.

PAPR's, who's using one around the shop?

I'm considering getting a PAPR for woodworking and grinding protection. I like the idea of getting one that also would work for welding even though I don't do that much welding. Lincoln, 3M, and Miller all make helmets that have flip-up welding filters with a large clear shield behind. Optrel...

    Welding PAPR's

I hope this fits within the thread... I'm considering getting a PAPR for primarily woodworking and grinding protection. I like the idea of getting one that also would work for welding even though I don't do that much welding. Lincoln, 3M, and Miller all make helmets that have flip-up welding...

    Shipping Charges from Harbor Freight?

Shipping for my 4x6 bandsaw and 58” tool chest was a lot more than $6.99 (~$100). It was still a lot less than renting a truck and figuring out how to get it unloaded by myself. The tool chest + $100 was comparable with competing chests so it was worth it.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Nothing too fancy, but an 86 lb import combo vise--just what I was looking for.

How does it work and does it leak? I just got a lathe and realized I need several of these little bad boys.

Racedeck Female Trim for Man Door Threshold

Thanks for the responses. Unfrtunately it's not coded:D Got most of the tiles laid (no code ) today, but still need to finish the part with the man door. The door is on the back wall of the garage (opposite the garage doors), so unless I'm very lucky to end up with a full tile, I've...
