i modified mine to open vertical. new, longer struts, drilled a couple new holes and it worked perfectly. i can send you pics and part number of the struts if you like

im very late to the party. i just joined. i have this same box but know very little about it. it was my dads and its missing the snap on emblem. did you ever get info about this box? thanks.
