First time home owner gets his first garage...

I barely have the height. It's just a regular height hip roof and we moved ties to make room. I can only get SUVs about 42" off the ground. I have to take the trunk lids off Evo/STi/SRT-4s if they have a big spoiler to get them up far enough to easily work under them. Is that motor new? The...

It took a while, but I finally have a lift, new windows, and some drywall! Next steps are taping/mudding/paint, drywall the ceiling, and keep working on electrical.

2 Car Detached Remodel. The Subaru Deserves Better!

I don't know if they are doing the event this year or not. They've typically lost money on the venture almost every time, but you can count on one or two Subies loosing a rod bearing and picking up an engine build during the day. :-) I left AMS in Sept. and I work at a dealership and do my...

2 Car Detached Remodel. The Subaru Deserves Better!

I have a friend here that owns a heating/ac company. He just installed a floor furnace in my garage that kicks the **** out of a ceiling heater and was very comparable in price. Plus it uses a filter which my allergies like, and an AC unit can be added to it later.

Been a while since any updates. I got a dealership job that supplies their own tool boxes so I got to bring my monster roll cab home. The floors are getting plenty of use and don't look as good as when I laid the epoxy. I got a hell of a deal on a very solid solid steel welding bench that you...

Re: Bandit's Part 3 "The Final Chapter". BendPak Lift & 2012 Garage Project Complete! Who makes the screw type door opener? I have to remove my chain track style to accommodate my new 2 post lift.

What to do with used brake rotors ???

Same here. I get $2 each for most decent sized rotors at work.

Bad ***. I'd love to work for a railroad. I've always been a freak about trains ever since I grew up in a small town with the L&N main line going through it. I remember climbing on derailed cars by the library when I was about 8. I lived in Wood Dale for a few years and saw some of the...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

99 VR-4s are very rare! If BB767 wasn't already enough of a bad *** in my book, he just topped himself for knowing what VR-4s are, including Galants. I have 1991 Galant VR-41901/2000 in my garage, parted out 1992 430/1000, and built then sold a 10 sec 1/4 mile 1991 1608/2000 about 7 years ago...

    Let's see your toolbox.

I was offered a lead tech position at a BSRO Firestone store last year. My current job gave me a counter offer that beat them out so I had to decline. It may have been a good thing after all. The store they wanted to put me in (re-opening of an independent store) looks like a complete ghost...

First time home owner gets his first garage...

This evening I tore down the crappy shelves along the back wall and purged a lot of the previous owners ****. My boss gave me an extra enclosed cabinet that I put fluids, paints, etc into and I painted and mounted the big corner shelf seen in the first pics into the opposite corner. One of...

Here are a few crappy cell phone pics. To be such a highly touted cameraphone, the HTC Evo sure does take terrible pictures in low light. There is obviously a ton more work left. I've basically just coated the floors and moved everything back in. I still have to rewire the place...

Yup! Epoxy coat is done and despite the pretty terrible condition of the slab, it turned out pretty nice.
