    very good quality sparkplug socket??

I had two Ko-ken spark plug sockets show up in the mail today. I've not tried them yet but they look to be top quality. The slender design is what sold me.

    Canadian equivalent to Harbor Freight

We have a tool town here, which I believe is a chain. All Chinese goods all the time. Smells like HF without the selection.

    Tool dilemma, need advice

It's a very personal decision. The money I received for anything I was not going to keep I would give to the widow and son. In fact, I would probably use that as an opportunity to 'pay' a little extra for the stuff I kept. Good luck with your decision.

(For canadians) Mastercraft PASS or FAIL tools

I noticed some love for the old 'Professional Series' Mastercraft tools now and again. I dug around the toolbox and found I had more than I thought. Most of these date from the early to mid nineties and have served me well. 1/4 ratchet, 3/8 ratchet and 3/8 stubby flexhead. All with quick...

What's the point of regular length 1/2" drive ratchets

Help me find a bow saw...

Thanks for the replies, some excellent information here, just what I was looking for. I'll head to my local Home Depot and see what's available. If I can't see anything there I like, I'll probably look at Amazon. That landscaping hand saw looks intriguing. The trouble with this place is I...

Help me find a bow saw...

I'm looking for a bow saw, for trees and branches up to 4-6 inches. Sometimes I just want to make one or two cuts and don't want to bother getting the chainsaw fired up. The Bahco ones on Amazon look good but I'm not sure what size would be best. I see some have blades for green wood and some...

Show us your factory flaw and unfinished hand tools

I saw these at our local college in the mechanical/machine shop area. I was able to get in and take some pics. Thought it kind of cool. Someone pinched the finished wrench from the second display board.

    Kraeuter fine tools since 1860.

Because of Woody I was moved to check my pliers drawer and sure enough, I found this nice needle nose pliers. Been painted many different colors over the years but it seems to add to the character.

what do you think of Mastercraft

Sums up my experience perfectly. I have some older "Professional Series" combination wrenches which I quite like. I was terribly disappointed with the latest offering of metric combination wrenches labeled "Mastercraft". Quality was very poor.

    Kraeuter Ratchet

I wonder what the design rationale was for the groove in the handle.
