The motor itself also "sounds" slow. My dad has a black and decker grinder, I've used that quite a bit and never had any trouble. I can remember how the motor sounded louder and faster I guess. If that makes any sense.

I tightened the nuts outside of the grinder wheel (which were slightly loose), but the actual bar itself is spinning slowly also. I can let go of the wheel and it will spin again.

Recently got a Cummins Bench Grinder as a gift, looks pretty new, but when I start it up the wheels turn very slowly. It's a 3,000+ rpm motor but I can put my finger on it to stop it. What would cause it to go so slowly? I don't know too much about wiring, I've only recently been getting into...
