    so I bought a mill

changed the motor to 110 (same specs as 220 motor), bought a shaft adapter to covert the new motor from 7/8 to1 inch (came with a new keyway as well). Drilled the factory pulley from 24mm to 1" ID. So... I bought the motor for 120 I bought the sleeve adapter and keyway for 15 Paid a local...

    so I bought a mill

the VFD is a cool idea. Seems like a really viable option and I don't think I'd miss the .5hp. I only have 20amp breakers in my sub panel in my garage so again, since I am not a home wiring pro (not even close), I wonder if this will still be too much. If these work, I would be really...

    so I bought a mill

yep, that's mine. In case I can't/don't swap the motor, I will sell this one and buy a 110 machine.

    so I bought a mill

I just bought a perfect Rutland Mill model 26660530 and its 220. It came with a questionable phase converter but that is where my knowledge ends. I am not able to run 220 into my garage so I am stuck with 110. I have a sub panel but it only has 25amp breakers and cannot accept any higher...

So.... I have been around awhile but just bought a house with a 2 car garage in Austin, TX. Ive been in Seattle and So Cal with garages but this is the first that I own and have plans on not only doing the 2 car, but also adding a 2 or 4 car shop out back. I build motorcycles and the...

ok, need a simple answer to a stupid question

I have read a million overly engineered threads here, but have yet to find a simple answer to a simple (stupid) question.... if I have a 1 car wide, by 2 deep garage (which I use as my workshop) and I have 4 foot, two bulb, florescent lighting... should I mount them wide or long for the best...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do in your garage today? I am doing something in my garage constantly.... but this week more than ever. See... I have a 1 car wide by 1.5 car deep VERY old garage (my house was built in 1910) so you can imagine, I have never owned large garages and I am very good with small...

I have been on Jockey Journal and HAMB forever, but just decided to check out Garage Journal and am glad I did. Greetings from the PNW. I have always had tiny garages, never more than 2 car and usually 1 car garages and have always done very well with very little (space). Right now, I have a 1...

doing a lot with a little

I have always owned small garages, and have learned to do a lot, with little space. Here is a quick vid I shot of the current garage. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess"...
