Kind of hard to tell from the pictures, but I'd bet the entire thing is cast iron.

Today I took one of my beat up stands and added a nice aluminum swivel seat to the top. I picked up the seat top from a local FB ad which was an all aluminum bar stool. Very high quality with nice welds. It works perfect as a swivel seat for the stand. :thumbup:

I thought I'd pass along this little shop tip. I use these aluminum dirt bike stands in the shop as a step stool and a nice solid seat for working on projects. The tray underneath the top is perfect for holding tools or small parts. These are really solid stands and well made. You can pickup...

I've had very good luck with adding epoxy in your situation, it should be just fine. :thumbup:
