Has anybody here built their garage THEMSELVES?

That is quite stylish, well done!

Grow Lights to start garden seeds/seedlings

My wife just puts them right next to a south facing window and rotates them daily. Free light, seems to be effective.

Has anybody here built their garage THEMSELVES?

One other tip if you go it yourself. A lot of things come with instructions. FOLLOW THEM! :) Trusses come with bracing instructions, I put up every stick of bracing they called for. Garage doors come with 48 step instructions, easy to install if you follow the instructions.

Has anybody here built their garage THEMSELVES?

Wife and I built ours, 40X44. I hired out the site prep and concrete along with gutters. Built the rest ourselves with the help of some friends in key spots along the way. Big brother only requires a zoning permit here where I live, so that part was easy. Plans were in my head and it came...

    LM8500 Wall Controller Failure.

I believe something shorts out in the controller which will trigger the door to open. If you remove the wall control, you can touch the wires together and the door will open. Touch again and the door closes. Time will tell on the "new and improved". The replacement controllers came last...

    LM8500 Wall Controller Failure.

FWIW, I looked at the circuit boards with a jewelers loup of the failed controllers and the lone working controller. The failed look like they delaminated and there was some greasiness like flux in a small area where they failed. The working board looked clean. Might just be residue from a...

    LM8500 Wall Controller Failure.

I have 3 8500 openers, installed Oct 2015. Woke up last week to one of the doors open on it's own. The wall controller was dark. Called LM and they needed the serial number and mfg date off the 8500. Called back with that and she had 2 888lm's sent out. Good thing she sent 2, woke up to a...

Quick Bendpak HD9 Question - Thanks!

Yes, the ends are the same as far as fitting the ramps onto. I seem to recall the installation instructions mentioned about the different ways you can install the power post in either end. If you had a drivethrough garage and 2 sets of ramps, you could drive on one side and off the other.

Anchoring air compressor to concrete floor

I also used the horse stall mat, got mine at tractor supply. I did bolt it to the floor with anchors.

    9K two post for a pick-up truck?

That last video was painful to watch.

    4 vs. 2 post lift

A couple factors in favor of a 4 post in my eyes for an amateur occasional user. First, easy to drive on and lift the vehicle. Never have to crawl on the ground setting the arms, never wonder if you have the balance right, never wonder if you have the lift pad in the right spot on the car...

    Yet another truss question

I will also say I love the metal panels. Hang them and you are done. Forever. No painting, no muss, no fuss. Look great IMO.

Choosing a 2 post lift. One size fits all?

Well pardon me. I thought the question was "is there a lift that will do it all safely".

Choosing a 2 post lift. One size fits all?

I will add another vote for a 4 post. I have a Bendpak HD-9 and put whatever weighs less than 9K on there with no finagling and no crawling on the floor. With the bridge jacks, can do anything I would want to do. And upon further review, I see the OP made his choice. Should be a quality piece.
