Interesting. They definitely seem too similar for it to just be a copy? Never heard of the corona brand here in Europe. But I'm surprised they do not advertise them as made in Japan (would think would help sell them better?).

For sure, but I'd argue every other wrench on the market is made without that cutout. The "Lightool" series has a purpose. Obviously these are niche tools not made for every use case. I think once you go into larger sizes over 8mm, it does have a more meaningful impact without a major torque...

But that is exactly what the 73 02 160 Knipex X-cut are. A true solid fixed box joint with a fork-and-knife pivot setup.

Got three different hinge design 160mm long Knipex cutters now: The box joint 73 02 160 are the last ones I got. They seem to be very precision made, no wobble at all and the box join will of course help with that a lot. They are not too tight and I'm sure they'll loosen up with time like...

The ratchet wheel model is very easy to use one handed but would also prevent you from extending it without specifically trying to do it. Classic yellow made in Japan workhorse... They also make die cast aluminium versions and interesting wood composite versions and even a slim all...

Had the same "lipstick" of loctite blue fastener locker for years. So much better than the liquid in my opinion.

That is true, but I've only really had to do that with bad quality wrenches.

I got the same knock off raptors for 3 years. Also got it very cheap on aliexpress. I bought them to hopefully never use them. In my country you are required to carry a first aid kit (also must not be older than 5 years) in a road legal car. The supplied scissors in those are always very bad...

Also very interested for reading more about these. How are the coatings? I have a set of Vessel, which has a durable coating but I find it a bit too thick and uneven - the eight looks better from the photo in that regard, more like some sort of anodization than paint (but probably less durable?).

The Facom is really good but I feel like Knipex finishes it really well and compact and I admire them for being the original manufacturer. However I think the Hazet is the best design overall.
