    Window pane replacement glass-Metal Frames

    If you're using putty to hold the glass pane in place, iirc there's a different type used on metal frames than is used on wood frames. Al.

    A 'real mechanic' would also probably have been using a Snap On ratchet and would cut a big access hole in the wheel well rather that cut that. :) Al.

    ^^ Could you have turned the steering a bit to free the ratchet? If the steering was already on full lock, could you have disconnected the steering track rod end (balljoint) to get more rotation of the hub to free the ratchet? Maybe disconnected the suspension bottom balljoint to turn the hub...

    Yes, looks like RIBE, also used in some locations on Fiat/Alfa Romeo etc. over the past 20? years. Wouldn't be surprised if FCA introduced it in the USA (if they haven't already).
