I'm still loving my old pit for everything from oil changes, motor mounts, bumper fixes, diagnosing, o2 sensors, and chasing down wiring issues. I've added some free Craigslist fiberglass grates to the front end and I have enough to finish it out, but stopped halfway, short of the workbench...

I moved into a 1945 house recently. There's a pit in the detached workshop/garage. It mayyy be a little crumbly. I can fit under the door enough to change the starter and oil but that's about it. I made a flush sturdy cap for it for now.

This thread has been helpful. I picked up an Invincible with the rounded linoleum top yesterday. After a spray, the top looks to be in good shape with only a few stains I'll work on later. This was the photo in the ad (complete with gasoline jug and full junk drawer).
