What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished up what I've been working on since last weekend. Had the cabinets hung last weekend, and spent the week wrapping them in this wood grain satin black vinyl. VERY happy with the result.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Still recovering from the work on my kids Jetta, but wall cabinets (cheap unfinished Menards ones but they'll do) are going up FINALLY. This is my first attempt ever hanging cabinets and I'm happy so far. No stud on the left side of the far left cabinet so I'm going to shore the gap and go...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

This was UNPLEASANT. PSA. Drop the freaking subframe. Don't be like me and wrestle with it for 2 hours. But.......on the plus side my new cabinets for the garage came in. Only problem is that I'm not putting them up until the Jetta is finished.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished up the Timing Belt portion of this job. 2013 CJAA Diesel Jetta, bought cheap needing some work, going to be my son's first car. Next up starting tomorrow is to pull the trans and replace the DMF.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Today I finished plumbing in the 30 gallon compressor salvaged for use an an auxiliary tank (bad motor). DEFINITELY have more volume now, going from 10 to 40 total gallons. Should be enough to let me do whatever I'll ever need it for. Also put a regulator/filter on the wall just before my...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I did something I've wanted to do for quite some time, and now that I just got a new CA Air Tools 10020C, it was the perfect time. If you don't want to click, I put it into the storage attic over my third bay in the garage.

    Show your new tool arrivals

Sold my old 33 gallon horizontal Craftsman compressor since I didn't have a good spot for it after getting a new bigger (72") toolbox. Didn't really see myself using the compressor much at all for the time being. Boy was I wrong. I've been without the old compressor for a little over a week I...

    Anyone with "Ring" experience?

I almost went Ring but was hesitant due to the subscription model. Then a Prime Day Eufy 2K Wired for $98 caught my eye. Best purchase ever, so another vote for the OP to look at Eufy here. The Eufy stuff is all internally stored, no subscription, and they work very well plus have a host of...

New Toolbox Time -- What would you Choose?

I didn't opt for the stainless top. I've never been attracted to those and find they all dent to easy. I've got the melamine top and it's fine for me. Drawer liners are quite nice. Best ones I've ever had. Some looked pretty hastily cut thought......jagged edge here or there. I just...

New Toolbox Time -- What would you Choose?

So here's some more pics. Better box shot: Latches/Drawer Pulls. REALLY nice pieces, heavy duty. I think the long term weak point will be the spring for the latch. Drawer depth is 22" usable all around, HOWEVER there is a short lip at the front and back that can be a detractor...

    Cabinet Layout Thoughts

They're closer to 14' high in that part of the garage. I do intend to do some drop storage from the ceiling. Have almost considered just building a short ceiling loft into it. The Christmas stuff all stays in the basement fortunately. No plans for a work station, computer, or anything like...

    Cabinet Layout Thoughts

Good thoughts from all, thanks everyone. I do plan to utilize the counter top as a work bench primarily. Can't center the tool box, the left side wall is only 21.5" deep and I am OK with the box sitting in that corner, but cabinets sticking out from that would be odd to me. Not to mention...

    Cabinet Layout Thoughts

My garage is.....interesting. Three car, standard two car and a third single bay sticking out to the left. It's long, and I have a bump out at the front end where my tool box currently resides as seen below. My goal is to get storage space, functional space, and a good working surface where...

New Toolbox Time -- What would you Choose?

I'll try to accommodate that after my work schedule calms down this week.
