    Black & Decker Workmate

Hi Wolf, the seller identified it as a Type 3, I'm awaiting delivery, so I'll have a close look when it arrives. I'm also on the lookout for a steel based, aluminium riser later version here, I understand they were grey or plated in the US and blue here in the UK. Cheers Ian

    Black & Decker Workmate

I have a Workmate 2 WM750, purchased new in or around 1997. It is still working hard in my projects, and has a little surface rust near the rear feet, which i plan to clean up and repaint. It has the plywood top, so before the MDF and bamboo versions. Thanks to this thread, it is joined by an...

    The Mews Garage, England

The Kreg works great thanks, I've built a number of plywood cabinets in the garage, at work, and rebuilt a wardrobe recently into a cabinet. Normally the UK jigs are marked up in metric, and the US ones in imperial, but for some reason, my UK jig is imperial. I just use the 3/4 settings for...

Thanks Hobie - much appreciated. Nick, I forgot to mention - the box and bag on top of the vacuum is my shop dustbin. It was an L-boxx 4, but with the slightly taller vacuum, I switched it to an L-boxx open size 3, with a refuse bag in it. I is roughly central in the garage, and more...

Nick, that's odd - I've refreshed and I can see them.... Can anyone else confirm they can see the Sortimo Workbench in the yard pics? Anyway Nick, thanks for your kind words - I've just trawled through your extensive thread, love what you've been doing in your garage too. The filters and bag...

    The Mews Garage, England

A visit to my local Axminster tool warehouse resulted in a vacuum extractor joining the team in the Mews Garage: This will help when working inside, and can also be easily wheeled outside for those bigger jobs. One item that is a puzzle, the Garage vac connects directly to the Kreg jig, you...

SO I used the Sortimo Workmo portable worktable today to rebuild and reconfigure an old wardrobe into a cabinet. It worked really well, I deployed it from the workshop door, where it lives and straight into the yard. Made the job a doddle.

    The Mews Garage, England

Whilst rearranging space to squirrel away all my phones and parts, I've been very busy making extra storage in the garage. In the entrance lean to, there is a roof area that is totally unused. So fitting some Elfa shelving: I'm able to put up all the L-Boxxes that didn't have a home: So...

    The Mews Garage, England

Hey Ryan, That's fantastic, thanks for thinking of me. I'll pass if you don't mind, after hitting 50 plus phones in the lounge, 'her indoors' has banned any new ones! And as I'm focusing on UK 1920-1950 GPO it doesn't fit really. But thanks again.

    The Mews Garage, England

Nick, thanks for your kind words - I too love the 'wall of L-boxxes' and now I've added the soffit shelf, I'm planning another soffit shelf in the lean-to wall. Hopefully I'll get to that next week. I also built a Ron Paulk bench here in Hong Kong, which I use to build stuff for the local...

    The Mews Garage, England

Thanks t-Handle, it has been a labour of love - but I really enjoy the change each time an improvement is made. Next job is to rearrange a few items, and put up a shelf in the lean-to roof, so I can store a few more L-Boxxes up and out of the way. Then this will allow me to make room for the new...

    The Mews Garage, England

After alot of internet searching, I've found a substantially reduced ex-display Sortimo Workmo Premium set, which was the table I really wanted - so I've pulled the trigger and I'm awaiting delivery. Using my Visio to scale diagram of the Mews Garage, I've worked out where to store the Workmo...

    The Mews Garage, England

Rian, Thanks for the kind words about storage - living in a very old cottage one has to be ingenious to find every bit of space. Uzzi - Yes I had looked at the Stanton Bench - I see that as an add-on to an existing bench, but if I go down the self build route - I'll certainly be using some of...
