I'm an aging IT Nerd who has been long into architecture and design.
I've taught myself competency in a number of trades over the course of renovations to multiple homes. My finish carpentry skills extends to some occasional (and hopefully future) Luthier work.
I'm currently working to finish up MANY projects in my mid-western 1883 Farmhouse. Current and aspirational projects include..
1) rebuilding a single-hung original window.
2) prepping and painting original trim after having new LP Smartsiding installed.
3) [finally] getting a workshop build out in my basement.
4) organizing my garage (too.. see above).
5) running compressed air lines in the future shop, and to various points around my home (attic, exterior connectors, etc)
6) building replacement windows for locations around the home.
7) getting the outside of that 1st floor bay re-skinned and new windows installed.
8) insulation, insulation, insulation.
9) ..the 50 other things I need to get done. :-(
And #10.. retiring early.
The only questions remaining about #10 are how soon?, and can I afford to stay In my beloved old farmhouse, or do we need to Pack-up and move to a lower-cost area?
