The fine threads on the armature shaft are deceptive, the unthreaded collar was pressed on after the bearing. I let PB Blaster sit on top of it overnight and got a little better 3 jaw puller...

I did put the map gas torch to the collar and try to unscrew it (both directions) with channelocks and the armature in the vise. It just felt like the collar was going to deform and mangle and I didn't want to do something that was unfixable because I didn't know what I was doing. I might try to...

As a last resort I know I could cut the ring off, and the bearing too if necessary. I'm not sure though after pressing on a new bearing if there has to be something to lock it in place. Thanks for your input.

Would anyone know how to remove this bearing? It's on the armature of a Gould 1 HP motor/ Hayward pool pump. I have a press and pullers but is this a threaded on locking collar in front of the bearing(which I can't seem to unscrew)? Or is it pressed on after the bearing? It doesn't look to be a...
