    1935 Gas Station Resurrection

Just read thru 90% of this thread for the first time. You have done a great job. I would love to have a shop like that. Youre vision was right on. I hope the town has recognized you for the revitalization of that old, wore out building that you started with.

    Identify this snake

Looks like a cross between a king cobra and an anaconda! Then again all snakes look that way to me.

If you want something weather resistant, maintenance light, use Azek t & g porch ceiling.

    Sliding Barn Door Install

Hardware should be galvanized to help with rust. You can always put a board on top at a pitch to direct water off, as far as sealing, theres a reason they are barn doors. If you want something that is weather/airtight there are better options. A simple clasp on the outside with a padlock does...

    Sea Container question

I have used them for years for construction job sites. Leaks are generally a problem, but that can be corrected. Cant say I noticed condensation though. Keep in mind, they only part with these when they become about half wore out. Also, around my area they are not cheap. Small ones (not sure if...

    Uneven concrete garage wall advice

Clean it well, put a coat of block filler paint, then top coat with white. You wont lose any floor space and it will brighten the area up.

    Correct way to pour concrete?

I am a 4th generation builder. My grandfather and father both never put rebar in footings. Most of the homes I know they built are still standing. ( going back to the late 40's). I remember when I started to work as a very young man, we would not use rebar. However, with 35 yrs experience, most...

Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

I would think your only problem would be when you start to run your business from there. I live in the country with an almost non existent hoa and it is strictly forbidden to run a business in the 'hood.

Supratile 18,000 Sq Ft Firehouse Install

Nice job! I have built many firehouses (not 100) and they all had epoxy. Some had problems some didn't. I would never imagine putting tile down.

    Wood garage floor

I like the idea. Depends on what type of wood you plan on using. Around my parts I can get rough sawn oak planks a couple inches thick for a song. Have the mill surface one side and there you go. Put several coats of a poly and you will have a good looking floor. I have been in many, many barns...

    Garage ceiling ideas

I just finished my garage. I had 15 yr old drywall that was not taped. I was going to get prefinished beadboard paneling from lowes, I bought a couple of pieces and changed my mind before I started. I ended up finishing the drywall (I did that myself, I am a professional) primed it with kilz and...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Cougar, I have a thread in Free Parking - anatomy of a door- It has pics of the door build. They were surprisingly easy to do. Took me a couple of hours to finish. I put poly finish on them yesterday and they look even better. Thanks for the compliment.
