Geothermal Heat and A/C for 10,000 sqft.

HDPE polyethylene pipe is recommended. Geo system is the most efficient. 45-50° ground is is more efficient to pull heat out of the ground or tranfer it back into. Have tens of thousands ******* in this building spend the money for a manual j for the load and engineering.

Is a DOB relay at the condenser recommended for a residential split system?

Most if not all electronic termostats have in their program a setting for 5 minute timer compressor off. Most scroll style compressors start unloaded. 5 minute dob relay if the thermostat doesn't have a timer is a good idea.

Does this air compressor look like it is worth trying to save?

By pulling the intake filter and putting the palm of your hand blocking the port turn on the compressor just for a few seconds. This takes the load off the connecting rod if it starts to knock loudly bearings are starting to fail.

    Garage Mini Split Installation Debrief

Valves at the condenser are shipped closed. After lines are connected most manufacturers want 500-600 lbs of nitrogen pressure for 4 to 8 hours. Nitrogen is blown out, vacuum to under 500 microns. Install manual will list what the manufacturer wants. With a unit in a deep vacuum unit valve are...

    unloading/moving a 60 gal compressor

Skidsteer with forks and rubber tires would fit inside a garage. Would have head room problem of a fork lift and with rubber tires wouldn't have the problem screwing up the pavers.

Tale of two start capacitors. Why is the US-made one so much smaller?

Shape and size of the same uf or voltage doesn't make one better than the other. Manufacturers use smaller caps to fit in a tight electrical space so you have to go back to them for a replacement. A 440 vac one can be used on a lower voltage . Lower voltage can't be used for a higher voltage...

    Question about superheat.

Super heat only works with a expansion valve. Bulb has to tight ( stainless hose champ) to the suction line at horizontal line 10-2 o'clock and insulated. Just before equalizer line. Suction temp at bulb and pressure should be at the equalizer line which very few taking sh would cut in a fitting...

    Heating/Cooling shop

Have very rarely use coil cleaner of any type especially ones that brightens. The reason is every time its used just a little bit of fin thickness is lost till the fin as lost its strength and bends very easily.
