Thanks - I'll keep digging into these Line Generators.
I'd like to find something that inherently projects both directions or somehow that I can make it do that without "tuning" too much.
They all seem to be cylindrical in shape - if something were flat to start with, that might be easier...
Bumping this back up as I'm looking for something similar (but for a different purpose). I specifically do NOT want it to self level, I just want a plane projected either parallel or perpendicular to a surface. I have the typical construction laser levels from Bosch or Huepar that will "lock"...
Bumping this up - also looking for an 8' folding rule. Looks like the Lufkin X48 is no longer available.
Looks like the 3 meter BMI is still available, but hoping for one with inches if possible and I like the sliding part of the Lufkin.
Solid is good - Heat is your friend, I like the oven idea that vavet had followed by localized heating with a propane torch (or two if you've got them). Set the oven to 550F or as hot as it goes and don't dilly dally around once you pull it out of the oven, get it on the table next to the vice...
jblnut - I'd plan to replace that rim and/or expect it to crack again, not necessarily at the location of your repair. Welded up many like that for farmers and it'll get you through the harvest, but it will crack again. Some replace them before they crack again and keep them as a spare for...
mikeGT4 - Check out Swain Tech for actual insulating coatings on exhaust manifolds/headers if that's your main focus. It's not the prettiest (white crinkle coating is the best way to describe it), but it works very well for thermal insulation.
Doesn't seem like a great deal on the wrenches...
The Tekton's are 4 more wrenches, better organizers (or none for less $) for $463

Not that the Milwaukee's are bad, just...
1) I don't like to waste things that can otherwise be easily repaired
2) Typically what happens is the whole pair of pants is otherwise fine and there is a single hole or thin spot in a pocket, so I repair that and keep them in service. Then another hole somewhere else in a few months, so then...
