I will say that I have made several successful models in sketchup for 3D printing. It does have its pitfalls, though, as it's more oriented for visual models. In other words, it makes things that look nice, but aren't necessarily built in a way that gives good input for 3D printing slicers...

My personal experience is they held up for about a month. I cleaned the sockets carefully with alcohol and used nitrile gloves to install them. On all my sockets smaller than about 1/2", the labels started to peel off (without any use) due to the curvature. So I wasted a lot of time...
