    Two post lift concrete thickness

4.25" floor slab, MaxJax wedge-it anchors worked perfectly.

    Winterizing MaxJax

the only reason I'm hesitant to do this, is because if there is a leak because I missed a spot (or the caulk eventually cracks), I won't be able to tell because it's hidden underneath. The anchors/bolts are pretty crucial components here, so I want to avoid getting any salt water on them...

    Winterizing MaxJax

I've been using my MaxJax quite regularly in my garage this year, since I installed it in the spring. I've left it installed, and don't ever take advantage of the "portability" feature of it. That said, for winter I'm debating moving it out of the way. The main reason is that I don't want the...

"garage art"? What to do with spare parts...

I've made a clock out of a flywheel, and am in the process of making an engine block coffee table. I'm wondering if you guys have done anything else with spare parts lying around. I have a crankshaft and a few cams I'm not sure what to do with. More tables? Hangers? Have you guys done...

    low ceiling + vehicle lift

thanks all for the posts and pictures! RonB -- my vehicles are parallel with my roof trusses. I have all sorts of pre-engineered trusses though, so I'm not about to hack them up :D and I'd need more architect drawings and engineering stamps to get 'er done. After reading the posts on here...

Thoughts on galvanic corrosion and anti-seize

I've used copper anti-size on my hubs/rims for about 15 years now, for both summer and winter tire changes. I've *never* had my rims stick to my hubs. Highly recommended!

    low ceiling + vehicle lift

hm. I've been reading all sorts of posts on the MaxJax. I'd never heard of that until now. This one might actually fit the bill -- I can install a few sets of floor anchors, so if I do need to move it, it's possible. Plus, it's 1/2 the price of a 4-post. I talked to somebody with a 4-post...

    low ceiling + vehicle lift

it's a caster kit that goes on the lift, only when you want to move it. It's not on there all the time, and no, you don't do it when a car's on it. I'll have to think about the 2-post some more...

    low ceiling + vehicle lift

I'd have a few vehicles in the rotation. Most of the time would be a '69 mustang fastback (fairly low) and the biggest would be a Hyundai Sante Fe. The cons of a 2-post for me: -it's anchored in spot -still need to get on hands/knees to align the arms more pros of a 4-post -i can put it...

    low ceiling + vehicle lift

First post on the forum -- so be gentle :) Long time lurker though, and some of the garages on here are awe-inspiring. I built a 22x30' garage, 18' wide front door. The ceilings are 9', due to my outside power line restricting the roof from being any higher. I'd like to put in a 4-post lift...
