Decent brake line flare nut wrenches

You're not wrong, the Vims are definitely bigger than a standard wrench head, but I sure have used the heck out of them. Because they attach to a ratchet or extension I have used some creative combinations to remove some tough to get to flare nuts. I work on a lot of tractors, skid steers, and...

Decent brake line flare nut wrenches

I have a set of Sunex line wrenches. They're fine and do the job. Truth be told however, I rarely use them. If I need to use a line wrench I use a VIM tools ratcheting flare nut wrench. I highly recommend them!

    Thoughts on angle grinders?

The Dewalt was a 10amp. Big, heavy grinder for a 4-1/2" and the head was so big you could only use about half a cut-off wheel before the head got in the way. I'm not sure this one burned-up or if the guys made it disappear once they heard we were getting new grinders. But I understand it was...

    Thoughts on angle grinders?

Very nice looking chassis there Zimman! Tip of the hat to the old craftsman grinder there. Both. To give you an idea of some of the fabrication we do: R&R trailer landing gears, wheel wells, diamond plate decking, and loading ramps. Various handrails and steps on semis, and equipment like...

    Thoughts on angle grinders?

I really appreciate the responses! A lot of good info here. I'm glad I asked the question. It sounds like it is pretty much agreed that corded is the way to go for significant grinding. That's the route I will likely go. Also seems 6" is probably the sweet spot. I have never owned a Metabo...

    Thoughts on angle grinders?

Who does a lot of fabrication here? I'm a lead fleet mechanic for a large construction company. While we typically do a good amount of fabrication, this new year we have been tasked to keep some older equipment alive for longer due to budget constraints. This means a lot more fabrication. We...

    Cornwell - any must haves?

I've had a couple ratchets for years that have passed the test of time. One of my favorite and a "must-have" imo is this one: https://webcat.cornwelltools.com/TR32-3-8-Drive-1-4-Body-5-Cornwell-Classic%E2%84%A2-30-Tooth-Ratchet-p371690788

    Innova 5610

I've had an Innova 6030p (I believe) on the top of my work tool box for years. As previously mentioned you can't compare them to a tablet but for a quick scan, or quick code clear they work great. My older model is annoying in that you have to click past all the freeze frame data from the first...

Does anyone have a dewalt cordless ratchet?

I am also a professional mechanic and in general I am a Milwaukee fan due to their greater selection of power tools for mechanics, however I have had a Dewalt DCF513B cordless ratchet for two years now and it is a fantastic tool. Very hard hitting to the point that infrequently I forget about...

    Tool Truck Equivalent Tool Boxes?

FNG here, been lurking awhile but just registered. I'm the lead tech for a local construction fleet. Originally started wrenching for the U.S. Army as a 63B - Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. I hope I can add to the hive from time to time, and have enjoyed the knowledge that's shared here, so...
