    In The Market: Cordless Drill

I have the Dewalt 18V and have had no problems with it. I also second the comments to get an impact driver with whatever setup you choose. My Dewalt impact driver is easily the best tool I have ever bought. Easily. It will put 4 inch deck screws into anything without stripping the head. Its...

Home Depot customer service: LOTS better!

I go to my HD at least 2x a week for various projects (landscaping, paint, gutters etc) and if you get to know the people they will be more likely to go out of their way especially if its not busy. One night i was getting drywall and was about to pick it out piece by piece when the guy came over...

Do you wear your wedding band?

Don't know if this has been posted, but I got a tungsten ring as well and they can't cut it off at the ER but you can crack it off. The best way is with Vise grips and you squeeze the ring and it'll crack instead of bending. Then you turn it and crack it the other way. It shouldn't squeeze your...

    Garage Attic Access Building Code

I know there is nothing there because it was a spec home and I saw the building process, also I cut a hole in the drywall last night and climbed up into it, but I can fix the drywall hole no problem. I made a removable panel for the mean time. I attached a picture to show what I'm talking about...

    Garage Attic Access Building Code

Hi All, My Garage (and home for that matter) is a wierd shape. The builder planned for some of the area to be used as an additional room, but I opted not to get the room and got a bigger garage instead. On top of 1/2 of the garage is a finished room. On top of the other 1/2 where the other room...

    Do Not Touch.

I've been to car shows where parents (and I use that term loosely) let their kids roam unsupervised and the kids will end up climbing in the cars to play with the playstation and whatnot. One guy had a International CXT with huge dollars put into it and kids were climbing on it like a jungle gym...

    Fumes ventilation

Hi everyone, I'm buying a home and want to find a good way to vent the garage. I do alot of painting, fiberglass and carbon fiber work and the fumes are terrible. I want to setup a good ventilation system. The garage has no windows and I don't really want to add any but it does have a unfinished...

    Fireproof cabinets and bins

Hi gang, I wanted to see how many of you stored your flammable things in a fireproof cabinet. I have to store 4 gallon gas and kerosene containers in the garage along with all the usual paint thinners and such. Should I invest in one of these cabinets (the small ones run about $400) or is it...

Might be small and was built on a budget, but it's MINE!

Looking good. Its tough for us guys with the smaller garages.

    Ventilation

I dont mean to drag up an old thread, but I'm having a house built with a 20 x32 (9 foot ceiling) attached garage and just want ventilation. I don't care so much about the heat and A/C (the house is in NC). But I wanted good ventilation for when I do painting, fiberglassing and carbon fiber...

Pvc Pipe Or Copper For Air Line?

Just to add to the info. The company I used to work at sells a polyethelyne piping system for air. You do need a plastic welder, but it might appeal to some of you. http://www.asahi-america.com/industrial-Air-Pro.htm

Basic hand tools - which company to go with?

I have a hodgepodge of Husky, Craftsman and Kobalt and must say that I like the Husky the best. I don't have the deep pockets for the high $ brand but getting a nice ratchet is a good investment and save $$ by getting cheaper screwdrivers. My 2cents
