Need help! How to adjust play in a REED 3C active jaw

I also have a Reed 3c. You can add washers behind the head of the handle and the front of the jaw if there is any slack there. Another possibility is that the pin holding the nut in the vise body is no longer holding it tight allowing it to slide slightly back and forth while turning the handle.

Vintage Craftsman motor pulley (from hell)

I have had this same problem. Just keep lubricating it and possibly try holding the shaft coming out the other end of the motor and twisting the pulley on the shaft in an attempt to break it free. For some reason after 60 years the pulleys seem to become one with the motor. Lol.

Found an unknown year craftsman drill press

I really like this belt guard even if it is an added accessory. It looks a lot better than the belt covers for the 100/150 DPs. The jubilee sticker stood out to me as well. The 1936 number on that sticker made me think it was a 1936 DP at first.

Found an unknown year craftsman drill press

Jakemac: thanks for the info. I had noticed the different shapes of various on/off switch plates but didn't know why they were different. Torqueman: I've been looking at owwm and haven't seen this exact one yet. If anyone else also has this model please post it up.

Found an unknown year craftsman drill press

I mostly got it just fot the table lift but I'm really beginning to like it. It may just stick around. Any body have any info on what year it is? Does anybody else have one of these? I've never seen another one.

Found an unknown year craftsman drill press

Well, as the title states, I picked this up the other day. Everything works and it is very good overall shape by my standards. Excuse the mess in the background-the maid has been slacking.:D I've tried looking up the model number to find out the year made but all I get are results for DPs like...

Yes they do match. Unfortunately, I only have one of the lock down knobs.

My new year is starting out right.

Yes I was. The ones in your link are what I thought they should look like. I tend to think mine might be stock though because the center circular chrome knob on my handle looks an awful lot like the handles on my other 50s cman saws.

My new year is starting out right.

It was assembled when I got it. I had to do a little take down to get it down the stairwell. Has anybody seen handles like this on a cman cabinet saw before? Funny, it was only about twenty minutes away from me. It fired right up and ran real quiet and smooth. I love this thing. Best part-only...

My new year is starting out right.

Hi, I'm Steven and I am a vintage tool addict. It's not like I needed another table saw, but when I saw this I couldn't get there fast enough. I was looking on craigslist, which I do far too often, when I clicked on an ad for two table saws that showed a picture of a modern Dewalt contractor...
