First I'll say I have neither, but have had the need for both. I'd say go with the lift first if that is an option. I've got 14' walls with ceilings at 16' 8". I bought 2 sections of industrial scaffolding that gives me access to the ceiling but getting things up there is a challenge. I used an...
My current 30 yr old 11.5 cfm 60 gallon air compressor is well past its servicable life and being replaced. It's served me well except for sanding and painting and I've been running it off a hose straight from the tank (not ideal). My new compressor is a 16.5 cfm 80 gallon single stage. I'll...
I just found some 2nds on 3 foot metal for $2/running ft which makes the metal feasible. Weight would only be .59lbs/sqft. Foam and 2x4s 2ft. Oc are negligible. That's well within the dead load specs. I still have the original issue of getting it up there though.
I've got a 30x40 shop and the ceiling is about 16.5 feet. I'm not seeing any lifts that go beyond 16 feet. I'm doing everything solo, and I'm striking out on how to finish the ceiling. I do have 2 sections of scaffolding that sit about 13 feet high. I'm not keen on building a platform or...
I guess what I'm uncertain of, is will 2 24000 btu mini splits pull enough moisture out of the air? Considering I'm only going to be keeping the temp 60/80ish unless I'm in there, I probably need to insulate the studs...
They sprayed silicone on the studs to keep the faces clean, so I think thats qhy it separated. It's a large building, so going 1.5" all over would be out, but I may get a foam pak kit and spray the studs and gaps myself. Sounds like I need to do something to cover them.
I have 2 of the home depot fans sitting in my shop waiting to be hung. You may already have the specs, but I took a pic from the manual. I'm curious as to how well they will perform, but the price was right.
I had my building sprayed about 2 weeks ago and left the metal studs exposed to attach 2x4 girts for the interior walls. The plan is to have 2 mini splits for hvac (2-6 months out). I'm noticing condensation forming on the interior metal studs.
Will having hvac take care of the condensation...
I'm in North Carolina and started a build earlier this year. I'm in the finishing stages now which seem to be the never finished stages. I wish I had found this site earlier, but I still have several questions, and I'm sure I'll come up with more as things progress.
Happy to discuss what I've...
