    Hot/ground reverse

Last time I have had one of these readings, the neutral wire on the AFCI breaker was off the buss bar and not connected. It was the weirdest thing because all the outlets in the circuit were hooked up correctly, all j-boxes were right. Had me chashing my tail for a few hours on a house I wired...

Keep blowing light bulbs at the house

Check the voltage rating on the light bulbs you buy, usually 120v. However most home voltage is between 125-130v. Buy 130v light bulbs usually found at electrical supply wear houses and see what happens. That is where places like HD and lowes get you with cheaper 120v bulbs that don't last as...

What brand racheting wrenches should I go with?

I have a set of reversible matco that I like. Honestly they look exactly like the gear wrench wrenches I just bought down to the same exact anti-slip design. Having used both 0 offset, flex head, and 15* reversible wrenches. For the first set I recommend the 15* offset reversible ones.

    Radiant Garage Floor Heating Question?

Day late and a dollar short on the compactor, I've ran a jumping jack over the whole thing for hours but I will wait for settling now (and cannot afford the whole pour right now) I've just about completed the prep for the pour, I will upload a few pics tomorrow. Thanks for everyone's help.

Insulation on exterior of existing building?

I have wired houses before where the contractor wrapped the house in 1/2" foil based foam board, then home wrapped, and vinyl siding hung over it all. Owner said he noticed a big difference. One thing to remeber is the windows have to be packed out somehow. The house I was at, they removed the...

    Radiant Garage Floor Heating Question?

My first pour is gonna be 300 Sq ft, so that loop will be just over 200'. Should I bring that loop back up and continue it into my next pour a year from now? Or just install a flow valve on that loop. Edge insulation as on the sides of the slab correct?

    Radiant Garage Floor Heating Question?

It looks like 300/400' per loop, 2" foam under the slab, and parallel runs aprox 16" apart. I've seen it attached in many ways, under, over the rebar and attached to wire. Not concerned about the manifold set up yet, just want to get some tubbing in the concrete.

    Radiant Garage Floor Heating Question?

I've recently built a 30x40' pole barn and have a few questions. I'm gonna pour a 30x10' section of concrete now so I can use some of the garage and cannot do the whole thing due to letting backfill settle before I pour. I'm toying around the idea of installing the pex-alu-pex tubing for...

    50 X 50 Pole Barn Lighting

The ones I speak of are the high bay t5ho lights with the full reflectors, not sure which ones you have used. We put plastic bulb covers on all the bulbs and they disintegrate as soon as you touch them due to heat. And yes, many different brands sell these lights. Howard, Cooper, Lithonia...

    50 X 50 Pole Barn Lighting

I feel like the output is about the same but less power and the ballasts don't get hot like the t5ho. Depending on what's in your barn, I'd be scared to store hay or gain in that barn with a t5ho. The top of the fixtures and bulbs get hot enough to burn you
