Sorry about the photos, PhotoBucket just changed their terms and conditions and want to charge me $400/year to enable 3rd party linking.
I'll fix it if I ever bother, otherwise this thread is dead and useless :(
Well the jig didn't work.
It kind of almost did, but for what I was trying to do, nope.
The first issue was the drive wheel just didn't have enough grip and slipped intermittently resulting in **** weld. So I added another stronger spring, and hit the crown of the wheel with a flap disc and...
The next part of my Midlana build really needs my rotary jig finished, so that got some more attention.
It's getting close, the motor is mounted on a pivoting frame, just need to add the over-centre spring.
And from the reverse side:
And with the drive wheel swung open so you can load and...
Next installment - another shed tool / jig.
I've got a lot of "bung into round tube" welds to do, so rather than spend a couple of thousand dollars, I'm making one.
Here it is half built.
I got it finished enough to wrap up and put under the tree. Phew!
Screwed down the controller box - this adjusts the cut speed and the cut distance, and has the "go" button:
Added the missing power wires for the stepper driver :dunno:
Added the main shield (I had this made, they royally...

Next was cutting the main board and varnishing it many times - I've used 18mm marine ply, rebated the edge with a little router to receive the fixed blade...
One of the end pieces failed to print several...
I've been distracted, kind of, by a little side project (doesn't that always happen?)...
These are all parts that go into making a semi-robotic paper trimmer "guillotine".
Here is the moving blade...
I've designed it all myself on SolidWorks, over a long time purchased all of the...
Car progress has stalled unfortunately. Life. Hoping to get back onto it very soon.
The milldrill has made this little task possible, without having to beg/borrow or steal, now it's there I am planning where I can use it on the car and think it will be very handy.
I finished the tee slot...
A little more sheddy goodness arrived this week:
A little Hafco mill-drill that a friend had no more need of, so came at a great price. He was incredibly generous and included a large amount of tooling that won't fit his new machine. It is 1HP, 23"x7.5" bed, with DROs on all three axes.
I...
