I was thinking the same thing about the valve plate, I was looking at mine and the aluminum plate was worn where the valves seat. I suspected if the valves are to the point of replacement, the seats would be worn to the point that they wouldn’t seal well.

Thanks for the ideas, The tank it isolated at this time. New valve there with a pipe plug in it to make double sure there is no leak. I will try the new formula on the soap and see what happens. I’m going to check the drain really well too. Going out and diagnose some more"
