A mechanic I know (motorsports) has only the snap on wobbly sockets in his toolbox. He figures if you can't get a wrench on it a regular socket probably won't work

At work we made a rack with old air fittings on it in the service truck

I would definitely build shelving along the walls, with enough space to store motors below. The lower shelf could be tall enough for the small roller box to go under so tools are right by the work area
