Solus Edge. Boot-up is super quick, 2-3 seconds and you're ready to connect to a car. Lighter than I thought it would be, screen is nice and bright (and modern). Will be much nicer to use than the shop's ancient and heavy Verus. Haven't had the chance to really try it out yet. D: Came with...

Who makes good double flex ratchet wrenches?

I think Matco had something similar on their extra-long ratcheting wrenches. "Mountain" (formerly EZ Red) has some extra-long ratcheting wrenches that are smooth/normal on one side of the head and have a ~3/8" offset box/extension of the box end on the other side. Might be worth looking into.

What causes this type of impact gun anvil failure?

Additional pictures of the failure on page 1. Ordered a set of semi-deep impact sockets along with a replacement anvil. The $36 for an anvil hurts less than the strain on my hands/arms that comes with using a 6lb+ gun instead of this 2.5lb featherweight.

My "inspector master" furry creature also does me the favor of marking all new tools with his scent, that way none of the guys are work will confuse my tools with thiers. :D

Simplest way to bench test auto components with direct power?

You use a powerprobe and check it on the car, as well as the whole circuit in all of no time at all. The wire piercing probes make quick work of things like this. Spend the money on a powerprobe and you'll never regret it.

What causes this type of impact gun anvil failure?

I'll get a couple tomorrow, expect to see this thread updated tomorrow evening. Currently too cheap to buy a set of 3/8" mid-length impact sockets (slow at work). Also relatively difficult to find matching 21mm and 22mm impact sockets.

What causes this type of impact gun anvil failure?

I've heard that using chrome sockets will eventually cause this to happen to an impact gun's anvil, especially when using the smaller drive-sizes (this is a 3/8") for heavy-use. Or is this a defect? I should note that the anvil just broke, I didn't hammer on it for an extended period. Zapped...

Brake caliper wind back tool set opinions?

That's because it is a great kit for the money. Even at the normal price of $40, it's a great set. I've had no problems using it, done atleast 10-15 brake jobs with it.

Smallest / Lightest cordless tool for reliably doing tire rotations

Does it have to be cordless? The 'plastic' 3/8" air guns are about the same weight as 3/8" electric impacts or lighter. I would expect 1/2" electric impacts to weigh more. Do you have to use torque sticks? I used a 2115TiMax set on "low" and it sets all lug nuts at about 80ft/lbs. But I don't...

What route do you go? Box before tools, or...?

Both at the same time. Once I started to run out of room in my 24" stack, I just spent the cash on a Classic 96. I didn't (and don't) plan on slowing down my tool purchasing (spend $200-500+ a month) so I needed a box that I wouldn't run out of room in right away. Paid the box off with my tax...

    Tools from the old world

Went to Sweden on vacation and did some shopping while I was there. "Tool" store was located in Kalmar (as was Bauhaus, but that's a chain store, very similar inside to Home Depot). From left to right: Knipex Nail Pullers. COO is Germany 9-6mm Matador Wrenches. COO is Germany. NOS, newer...

HF/pitts pro mechanics 301pc socket set any good?

I bought that set almost two years ago when I was starting out as a (auto) tech. Sockets- Most of them are 6pt. They aren't as nice as what you get from Lowes (Kobalt - Taiwan) or Craftsman (China or USA), but they're still better than HD (Husky), IMO. They're useful/work better than...
