Yes, to answer your question: the stick machine will work and be versatile for other jobs. Note that for this job you will likely want to use 6013, or another all position low penetration electrode.

Yes, the sched 40 pipe in compression is going to be strong enough. You will want to brace the legs though and gusset the attached to the plate. I imagine you'll build a frame out of the pipe to place the top on? 1/2 plate over a 6' span won't have much deflection.

Thanks very much. I was hoping to be around 14 for footings foundation and 14+/- for the slab. I did see the trusses, but wasn't sure if that was what allowed you to cover that span with no posts. I'm really new to this, sorry for the silly question. Nathan
