    Garage Sub-panel

I guess if you want to totally ignore the entire "garage" part plus it's literally the title. Never heard a pole barn and a shed being mixed up "but it is what it is".

    Garage Sub-panel

Yeah, never once stated a "shed". Explicitly states "garage/pole barn". Also I did state my initial idea was to run separate circuits but I did ask if it was better to run a main feeder line and then put the sub in the garage. That does seem to be the better route so that's how I will proceed...

    Garage Sub-panel

Why not? It only takes a few minutes and with all the info I have learned here, I can go in with a good plan to outline for him. Typically when you get a permit, you have to supply a plan for what you are doing. There may be some weird code where I live that they can fill me in on. It's always...

    Garage Sub-panel

Agreed. I wanted to come here to learn as much as I could before talking with the inspector. I always like to educate myself as much as possible.

    Garage Sub-panel

Thanks. The 40 feet is all inclusive from main to sub with extra. After spending $25,000+ for the garage, I'm not too concerned about a $50 difference. It will come down to what the inspector says and ease of installation. Thanks again.

    Garage Sub-panel

More info as there seems to be a lot of discussion. While my garage is less than 10 feet from my house, my panel in the house is a total of 40 feet from where the sub will be in the garage. The main panel is in a basement where I can run wire or conduit and it won't affect anything...

    Garage Sub-panel

Thanks guys. Doing more research and I agree with the wire and 90amp breaker. That looks like the best path. Thanks again!

    Garage Sub-panel

Thank you. I was wondering about the multiple circuits being run. Probably just so much easier to have the sub in the garage anyway as it's easier to add more circuits later on if needed. Thanks again.

    Garage Sub-panel

I am having an additional garage/pole barn being built. It is within 10 feet of our house. I have a 200 Amp main service panel and want to add a 100amp sub. My initial thought was to install the sub-panel in the house and then run circuits from there to the garage. The circuit wires would be...
