    Quincy 210 oil leak

That's the bright side! Much better at 30psi now than full pressure later... I think that rust chunk was sealing up before paint prep because of the water pressure behind it.

    Quincy 210 oil leak

Finally got er pressure tested (homebrew hydro to 250), cleaned up, and back together... Quick test fire and 😭 Wire wheel must have knocked some rust chunk lose. Now she leaks. So much for that. Saving the pump, motor, and other stuff, the tank is going out to pasture... honestly, I don't...

    Questions about compressor pumps

The unloader tower runs off air but it is switched by oil pressure. The pump can ramp up to speed with the intake closed until there's some oil psi. You can use a pressure/control switch unloader on the outlet side instead, if you have a check valve at the tank. I'm not sure one is better than...

    Questions about compressor pumps

I've never seen the speed vs cfm curve for the 210, but I don't imagine it's much extra from 750 to 900. I just timed a tank fill. This thread is pretty good. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/quincy-210-air-compressor.366850/post-6644131 Look through it all, because the OP machine...

    Questions about compressor pumps

They both look like the 210 quincy I recently started working on. Yes, they have an oil pump. You have a dual control on the left on and both have unloader towers. The left one is missing the hydraulic valve that triggers the unloaders when the oil pressure rises. The right one seems to have...

    Thanks, that helps a ton.

    Quincy 210 oil leak

I just finished drilling the plugs and taping the holes. Shortened some appropriate bolts to function as plugs & made some copper washers, as that's what seals the oil pressure adjuster. If that don't work, thread sealant or Teflon tape! @The Tool Tyrant , any info in your documents on oil...

    Quincy 210 oil leak

Quincy didn't offer anything useful. I agree, similar plugs on the bearing carrier. I gave the leakers a little tap with a punch and hammer. They moved inward really easily  Also they still leak. I'm going to try to pull them out and take a gander inside. Maybe they can go back...

    Quincy 210 oil leak

Picked up this nice frankenstein featuring a Quincy 210 ROC3 and a Century 1.5hp motor. There's no unloader on the pump or in the pressure switch. Hand writen notes on the pressure switch say 120 in, 150 out. :censored: No rusty water came out of the drain, but I did get more water than I'd...

    SS3L3 to T30 2545 pump?

Thanks for the input, folks. I double checked, it's a 3450 motor, and it is a SPL rating. The whole unit is advertised as 3hp... Ok, the T30 is out unless I find a motor.

    SS3L3 to T30 2545 pump?

Current motor is 1725 3450 rpm with ~4" pulley. All the searches I found also came up with these at 7.5hp min. I wondered if the hp is really needed to achieve the high pressure and flow. Since I don't need the max of either parameter, maybe I get enough running it slower?

    SS3L3 to T30 2545 pump?

I've had an IR SS3L3 from Tractor supply for about 10 years, working pretty well until recently. The service breaker began tripping at start sometimes. Troubleshooting revealed the unloader wasn't working. After replacing the pressure switch / valve assy, start up failures occurred less...

    Block building repair?

There's actually quite a few. Two pics are the same crack, inside and outside views, emanating from the floor. The third pic is the opposite end of the building. What's the next level of repair past mortar or pouring down the block webs from the top?
