    Milwaukee USA-Made Hand Tools (i.e. Pliers) ****

I agree. The milwaukee markers are solid, I wont be using any other brand unless I have too. As far as hand tools go, their combination wrenches are excellent, both flex head and non. Though I own multiple styles of their pliers, I dont have enough experience/time with them yet to comment...

    Tore Down the Honda Engine

Rod bearings did have wear, but minor compared to that observed on the skirt.

    Tore Down the Honda Engine

That area between the arrows is what I wiped off with a rag, its edges matching the skirt wear is coincidental. I was wiping the top lip of the piston to see if any marring occurred to the top of the piston. Its not oil washing over the surface and cleaning it. All of the pistons showed skirt...

    Tore Down the Honda Engine

What I'm actually most curious about is the horizontal wear markings on the cam journal. I've never seen that before, it almost resembles cylindrical bearing wear like you might see on a wheel hub, but there are no bearings between the cam journal and head assembly to make that unique pattern.

    Tore Down the Honda Engine

For all I know you may be correct :) Thanks for the input, I edited my post accordingly. Heads up though, the oil ring does account for lubrication of the skirt, rings, and cylinder walls and insufficient oil flow through the oil ring will create skirt and cylinder bore damage.

    Tore Down the Honda Engine

I've removed all of the sensors, coil packs, injectors, etc. and will hold onto them in case I might need to replace one at some point on the newer engine. I'll save a good portion of the bolts since they are quality bolts, just to have as extras. The block and heads will find their way to a...

    Tore Down the Honda Engine

That was cylinder 1. No known oiling issues other than my son driving it with with very little oil in it for a prolonged period. If you look closely at the oil ring, you can see where the oil baked into the corrugations of the ring. *Edited - Insufficient knowledge to account for my original...

    Tore Down the Honda Engine

As some of you know, I recently replaced my Honda Pilot engine with a Ridgeline engine because the Pilot engine had a distinct, cyclical, knocking sound. As an update, its been a few weeks since the engine swap and the Pilot is running as good as ever with the Ridgeline engine. I got curious...

Polishing a Turd and I f***ed up, Recommendations?

I may be going against the grain, but I like it as it is. It's a shop floor, its unique, and "imperfections" add character. A clean shop is a great thing, a spotless shop floor with no stains is not :)

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Purchased new 2016. Ours has been problematic and unreliable pretty much since day one, so I'll most likely never own another one. We usually give our vehicles to our kids when we upgrade vehicles, but this one might get sold outright for bottom dollar just to be rid of it.

Milwaukee's latest Impacts vs Old School Air

The difference between air and electric for me boils down to mobility. I can't haul a sufficiently sized air compressor with me on job sites, hauling trailers, or doing teardowns in the field. The M12 and M18 work everywhere, and I dont need to have a compressor with me to use them.

I pulled the engine from the Honda Pilot and separated it from the transmission. Mounted the replacement engine to the transmission and started replacing the seals, gaskets, timing belt, etc. on the replacement engine before it goes in. Hoping to get everything back in the Honda this weekend.

Finally polyeurethane coated the flower/garden box, got it positioned in the back yard, and filled for the wife. We wound up putting zucchini, squash, onion, tomato, carrots, and bell peppers in it. Probably too many different plants for the box, but its purely for the fun of it so we'll roll...

    Garage Tool Value?

If there are specific tools you want certain people to have, give it to them as “time nears” or leave it to them in a will so that your wife doesn’t have to worry about finding a new owner for them. When it comes time for me to start thinking about that, I’ll ask my kiddos if they want anything...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Thats a great idea. I was planning on putting a base about 24 inches from the top, but i have so much firewood that your suggestion might be a better alternative. Thanks for the input!
