What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I needed a larger tool box and more counter space, so I've spent the last few months on Craigslist, offer up, marketplace, etc. looking for a 72" US General box, but instead I found a good deal on a US General Series 3, 56" Roll Cab on Facebook Marketplace. The kid had it for 2 months and...

    Why the heartburn with Craftsman?

Maybe that’s brand specific, but my wrenches with teeth don’t do that.

That wrench will absolutely lock down on nuts that others wont. If its a nut or bolt of questionable conformity, I always reach for the Milwaukee wrenches, they really are that good.

Built a makeshift rod rack and got some of the rods and reels off the floor.

Auto mechs, how often do you use deep sockets? Would you miss them?

Between shallow and deep sockets, I'll reach for a deep socket before a shallow socket. To further the intrigue, 90% of the time I'll reach for an impact socket before my standard chrome sockets, regardless of purpose.

    Submerging Ratchetsi

Ratchets will be fine as long as you clean them out with something that will displace the water, and lube/oil them immediately after use. if I had to use a wrench, I'd use one without a ratcheting mechanism, such a a breaker bar, and just dry it then dip it in oil afterwards. Personally, I...

You're gonna love it. Pair it with a larger battery, like a 4.0 or 5.0, and it will sing for you.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

What did I do in my shop today? I opened a bottle of good tequila, made some stellar margaritas, and now I'll be sitting just like this for the foreseeable future. Having a hammock in your shop's bay door is a nice thing after a long week...

    New Alliance Vendor: Olsa Tools

I needed to organize my spare socket drawer, so I purchased a triple set of socket organizers in red, and another triple set in blue. I am very pleased with the quality and price point of the rails, so I will be ordering more in the near future.

What's the one garage upgrade you wish you'd done sooner?

    1. Shelving units; Off-the-floor storage is number one for me, space tends to fill up quicker than you'd think. 2. Lighting; Good lighting coming from multiple angles eliminates a lot of shadows and goes A LONG ways when crawling in, on, around, under projects. 3. Excessive electrical...

    Traveling/Vacation Pocket Tools

I don't carry any tools on my person while on vacation. I will load a small road trip go-bag of tools in the vehicle though, and that usually consist of a portable wrench and socket set, multiple screw drivers, a wrench roll, tire patch kit, m12 compressor, and an m12 3/8 stubby impact.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

With all of the backyard garden and flower activities we've taken on this year, the wife and I decided it would be nice to have a hand washing station. We couldn't find one we liked, so we built one with some leftover wood, a motion sensing solar light, brass piping and fittings for the water...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Replaced a much older M18 that was wearing out, with a new M12 Hammer Drill/Driver. Very happy so far.
