Jackshaft garage door openers - do they work?

The Jackshafts have been out now for several years and have great reviews on the web. I have them installed in my garage and love them. The 3800 series is being replaced by the 8500 series with MyQ® technology. This will allow you to see the status of your lights and garage door on your...

    Garage door window inserts

If you are still looking for them, I have a few sources for garage door window inserts here. I've purchased decorative window insert directly from National in the past by sweet talking them, but had to purchase a box for about $50. It was more than I needed but actually worked out quite well...

    Cleaning MotoFloor with Floor Scrubber?

I used a floor scrubber on my RaceDeck once and it worked pretty good. It had a beater type brush though similar to a vacuum cleaner. I just went over it quickly with a diluted simple green solution and came quite clean. I'm not sure I would trust and orbital model though.

New "Granite Look" floor in 1 Resin Coat?

There is a new product called ZYCKE for professionals that sounds pretty interesting. Chips Unlimited developed a quartz look additive that when used with compatible resins suspends in the coating. You mix it into the resin and it doesn't float on top or sink to the bottom. They claim you can...

    My Wolverine Floor

Re: My Wolverine Epoxy floor Nightmare Wow is all I can say. I certainly know how much work you went through to sand those bad areas of the floor down. I've had my share of problems with a polyurea product (one of the reasons I no longer run my Coating Works business). I stood behind every job...

    Floor Jack Time

My HF floor jack has performed well over the years. I have also purchased an affordable low profile aluminum jack at Northern Tool (< $130). They usually have one on sale and have a pretty good selection in my store.

Rustoleum Epoxy Professional Floor Paint System

I would try using a urethane top coat to provide a uniform gloss. It has better UV inhibitors in it and should provide the gloss you are looking for.

    chips / flakes recomendations

Estes is a manufacturer of chips and crushed quartz. www.estesco.com Flakes are not shown on their website, but I've purchased large quanities direct from them in the past. Chips Unlimited is a good source.

Epoxy on floor with no vapour barrier?

UCOATIT is a good product, but my experience is hydrolic pressure will lift epoxy coatings over time if no vapor barrier is present. I just finished removing a Polyurea coating job I did over new construction with a damaged vapor barrier. I had tested and discovered slight moisture before...

    acid eitching

You can use diluted ammonia 1:4 with water or baking soda to neutralize the acid. I agree with Hammerdown on 48 hours. New concrete should cure 30 days before you apply a coating. Good Luck!

    My Three Car Garage Project

Garage looks great! That retractable air hose on the ceiling is handy. I have a retractable shop light on mine. Any concerns about the weight of the compressor in the attic spread over a small area?
