Thanks for all the replies. When I had someone come out to replace my torsion springs, he mentioned getting the nylon rollers with the ball bearings to help with noise. He said I had the non-ball bearing ones. Can anyone attest to that making a difference?

Thanks, everyone. I’m trying to quiet it for my two kids directly above, when sleeping. Perhaps I should have gone jackshaft. I will lubricate all moving parts, and go from there.

Does anyone have any experience with rubber isolators between garage door openers and the angle iron, or between the header bracket and house framing? I am trying to get my garage door opener as quiet as possible, as I have multiple bedrooms above.

Thanks. That’s what I figured. That makes sense. If I decided to put new angle iron in where it holds the end of the track, would I need to attach them to a different part of the joist, so it is straight up and down from the ceiling, instead of bent forward to meet the track?

Thanks. I’m referring to the plate that is in your 3rd picture that is attached to the side of your roller track. I’m not sure of the name of that part. I have attached a picture of mine. That, or it is adjustable, and that bolt is just so large that I can’t see the small slot under it.
