2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

Found these two beauties for $0.99 each. I have developed a bit of a vintage stapler collection and I'm not sure why.

    VEVOR pass/fail

I’ve got a few Vevor things. I’ve had their welding table for a couple years. Same as the Titanium from HF aside from the accessories and has worked well for me. I also just got one of the inflatable jacks and really like it. Its great for my garden tractor as well as vehicles.

    Bell system

Thanks, I'm not sure if I ever shared anything here, but I ended up with thousands of matchbooks and covers, There are some pretty neat ones for some other tool/supply houses as well.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Made the pick needed to pick this monster open. Sargent & Greenleaf 0881 Environmental. Kind of concerning that these are securing a lot of important things since picking it isn’t that difficult if you know how Disc Detainer locks work. But a lot of cool weatherproofing/anti-corrosion...

    Bell system

Here are a few non-tool Bell things I’ve come across. First, an Illinois Bell 1949 pocket calendar Some matchbook covers. The pink and yellow are salesman samples/proofs and never had matches in them. They did make it into production because I have a few full ones. Third is a Pacific...

    M. Klein & Sons

Anyone have any info on Klein Stamped locks? These are not my photo's, they are from a current eBay listing I ran across in a search for Chicago Lock Co padlocks. No visible manufacturer, but no photo of the cylinder either. I wouldn't think Klein made these themselves, but I most definitely...

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

Hit a sale Friday and Sunday, both were not professional estate sales and poorly advertised so they weren’t too busy. I didn’t take separate photos, so I’ll give a rundown. Fridays sale I ended up with a Diamond Adjustable, Snap-on 1/2” ratchet and Breaker Bar ratchet converter, a 1/2”...

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

Hit two estate sales today. One was a dentist who had some interesting stuff, but the company running it tends to be a bit higher priced on most things. There were some dental boxes they wanted market values for, and I laughed hard at a taxidermy Largemouth bass with dentures they wanted $75...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got my first diy lock pick usable at least, it fills a gap for smaller keyways my set is lacking and the handle shape fits my style. Made out of .020 x 1/2” feeler stock. It will be getting a final polish and real handle once my micarta gets here.

Lets see your vintage shop work lights

Got it. Since I need to make a reflector for it I will take a look at everything under it and figure out what to do. Luckily I have a brand new polished stainless dress plate for a truck tool box in my scrap pile that should make a decent reflector.

Lets see your vintage shop work lights

A few pictures of the Luxo’s. There are two identical L-1 stamped models, and one L-350 (not 35D as I said above). The L-1 lamps have a small bulb and switch in the box at the base in addition to the switch on the back of the light head. They have a post for a socket, which sadly I couldn’t...

Lets see your vintage shop work lights

I ended up with a Flexo from an estate sale today in much worse shape. Im fairly certain I will have to make a new reflector, so I have some work to do. Did you figure out why it was getting hot? Mine has no bulbs so I plan on putting LEDs in it. I also ended up with two Luxo L-1 lights...

    Show your oiler cans

Found this one at an estate sale this morning. Such a neat logo.

    Show your oiler cans

I ended up with this Gustave Lidseen from an estate sale last week. Pretty neat, I’ll probably just give it a quick wipe down and leave it.

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

No new job yet. Kind of a niche industry. I was one of the last ones on real commission pay, they couldn't make me do "free" work so they replaced me with someone on straight salary and no experience for less money. Poor Guy. I've heard from a former coworker/friend I trained they are...
