    Network outlets....hdmi...speakers....etc....HELP

Just be careful with CAT cable, CCA is being sold everywhere, which is aluminum wire, coated with copper (copper clad aluminum) and that is ****. It is not compliant with the standards, and is cheap. Also, if you are not running in a conduit, always pull extra feeds. I've got a couple of regrets...

Vinyl Wrap for drawer handles Craftsman toolbox ?

Find a local powdercoater who can bead blast the red paint off and re-coat. If they are aluminum and you want that look polished look, then you would need to scotchbrite it to give it a grain, as the bead blast will dull it. But raw aluminum will oxidize over time, so protect with clear anodize...

Soft close doors on Saber cabinets

Had the Saber cabinets for a few years now, but hate the sound they make when they close. So, I designed a mount for the Blum 971A soft-close dampers that works in the Saber cabinets. No modification needed to the cabinet, it took a while to get a fit that works, as the variance in the cabinet...

    LED replacements for florescent tubes

Could be a cold color temp (5-6000K?). I prefer 4000K. And not all LEDs are the same. If you care about color rendition, pay attention to the CRI. Cheap fluorescents used to have a green spike on the color spectrum. LEDs less than 80 CRI don't look very good. And CRI is a somewhat flawed test...

What are good metal cabinets for the money?

I'm finishing up my install of Saber cabinets. I wanted them wall mounted with clearance for broom under the cabinets, and no legs. This was a must-have for me. They take a little time mounting them perfectly square and level, but I'm super happy with them. They came wrapped on a pallet...

Home Cheapo 4Ft LED Shop Light?

I hung a bunch over workbenches, they work fine. Plenty bright, linkable feature is nice. They are worth $39, in my book.

New 24'x24' Bungalow Woodshop/Autoshop in California

Just binge-read this. Love the craftsmanship from design to build. Inspiring. Tip on the LEDs is to run 24V LEDs instead of 12V to reduce the current by half and tolerate voltage drops better. Otherwise, run home runs to LED driver for every so many feet. I like to run lots of it, high lumen...

I think I was ripped off on AC repair with $185 capacitor

I read this thread a couple of weeks ago, and thought I should buy some spare caps. Didn't get around to it and last Friday night, the AC stopped working. Pulled the 40/5 dual capacitor, measured the capacitance with my Fluke meter, the start side was reading zero μF. So Saturday AM, I found a...

PLEASE Please help me!! Very Desparate.

Call American Rotary and buy a phase converter Don't fool around with an undersized motor and swapping a pulley, too many risks of it not working. And don't weld on to a motor. Good way to knock it out of balance fast, Jackassery. Motors don't have rods, they have shafts.

Will this work for garage AC?

Wife doesn't want to add a window to the garage. I'll start with insulation. Unfortunately, the walls are already drywalled. Does that mean ripping off the drywall and putting it back up or should I look at blowing insulation or foam into holes?

Will this work for garage AC?

Thanks, good advice, insulate first. There are no windows in the garage.

Will this work for garage AC?

House was built in past 5 years to code. I'm sure it's properly built. Has fire sprinklers, smoke detectors with CO sensors I believe. Anything I do will also be to code, just don't want the headache later. Looking at ductless now.

Will this work for garage AC?

Well I don't park in the garage, it has never seen a car inside. But I want to make sure its up to code, which sounds like it might not be.
