    Two post lift concrete mistake

Thanks Dig Doug. Thought I’d better post a pic of the attachment points on top of the post. Just in case some keyboard commando thought I was deficient in my bracketry. I know it would never happen here, but some unthinking soul might cast aspersions on my ability to make something strong...

    Two post lift concrete mistake

I don’t know what type of roof the OP has, I’m just adding my two cents as a possible solution to a concrete problem. The columns of my lifts, and though they are Chinese I assume they’re pretty much typical, are simply a channel in which a sled travels up and down. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t...

    Two post lift concrete mistake

I would guess that my brackets connecting the tops of the posts to the roof would be a lot less expensive.

    Two post lift concrete mistake

Both of my 2 post lifts have the posts tied to the roof structure with brackets I made. One has only 80mm concrete, the other about 100. The bolts into the concrete only have to stop the base of the post from moving. Both lifts are solid as rock.

Another 2 post lift anchor torque question

Never checked either of mine. Been installed 8 and 10 years respectively. But both are secured to the roof, both solid as rock. Vehicles on them barely move when I give them a shake. The floor bolts only need to stop the base moving. It’s a good feeling knowing they are that solid, when you’re...

    2 post lift concrete question

I’ve installed a 2 post in each of my two sheds. No more than 4” of concrete in either. But I tied each post to the roof trusses. Works a treat. Cars are solid as a rock when in the air.

How far is your walk? aka distance shop to house

300 yards, but it doesn’t snow here (mid NSW, Australia) and I like to be able to make plenty of noise without bothering anyone. Use an old scooter for the commute.

Best thing you ever made in your garage

That car is amazing. What is also amazing is that I was just looking at your post (now old) on British V8 about you not selling it. I jump over to Garage Journal and there it is. I really enjoyed following your incredible build. Thanks for posting.

Has anyone stopped mice? Baiting just seems to attract more.
