    Security Camera Recommendations

I have to agree with the others that said Nest. I have been with them for 6 years now (since they were known as Dropcam). I have been very pleased with them. They have been overall very reliable and the video is high quality.

How to select a cat for garage cat duty?

Every cat we have ever had has chosen us. People always seem to pick a farm to drop them off at, usually instead of having them spayed or neutered. There are always lots of nice animals at the local shelter as well!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I did an “emergency” brake job on my truck. My wife has been using it to trailer her horses around and I don’t drive it as often as I used to. It was metal to metal. She plans on taking it again in the morning!

WIFI Security Cameras - Need advice!

+1 on this. I have had my Dropcam (now Nest) for a couple years now. I've never had any problem. Video is saved for a week and it will notify me immediately if there is any motion or sound (if I want it to).

Anyone use an outdoor wood stove?

I have had one since 1999. I loved it for many years because we had an unlimited supply of good firewood, and I was healthy enough to cut it. We have a cold climate. I would estimate that I burned approximately 50 face cord of wood usually cut 24 to 30 inches long. It was A LOT of work...

Building with green (fresh cut) wood

I built a shop out of green lumber. It's 32x36 with two floors. Believe it or not, it was framed with white oak. An old neighbor of mine had a misunderstanding with a logger, and he thought he was going to get veneer prices for all of the oak he cut. After he found out the logger was only...

    Band-aids...

Initial first aid is usually accomplished with paper towels, just because they are usually near by. Then, if needed, I'll reach for band-aids (I prefer the cloth ones) or super glue.

How do I keep company from thinking my garage is a garage sale?

I guess i would have to close the door. I actually go to the shop to GET AWAY from people that may be making me uncomfortable in my house.
